So, I've actually played the switch version and I don't know what he's talking about when it comes to buttons. YOU CAN remap them. Under your pause menu > options > Controls > customize button layout. This is what I had to do since I couldn't work with the original button layout in the first place.

Damn, this runs worse than the original Xbox version because I recently played it without the backwards combability. That's 2001 hardware running a game better than 2017 hardware lol

The hardware is fine, those responsible for putting the game on Switch (Aspyr) are the cause.

@@aqylikeanddislike9647 I'm more impressed with the original xbox port. It was incredible at the time because the hardware was 4 years old and stacked up against the PC version well.

i just bought this game last night for switch. you can remap buttons from within the game now (i noticed the default was 'weird') as of Apr25,2023

No, the remaster removed the multiplayer. Also the original only had 1-4 player Versus, no Co-op, unfortunately.

I honestly think this might just be an issue with the game itself and not the Switch because I've played the original Xbox version on my 360 and it chugs along rather poorly and constantly drops frames.

It doesnt look alright. The bump mapping doesnt work. So it looks worse then the PC AND the Xbox Version. The Ps4 Port DOES support bump mapping.

I was wondering about how they compared. I have the OG Xbox version enhanced by my Series X. If they just patch a fix for the buttons and framerate, the Switch version could be a better option because of textures and lighting. Good video bro!

In the system menu of switch 😉 you can re-map any buttons

Actually the PlayStation five version is probably going to be similar to the switch version, since it should be that same remaster just running at a higher resolution, but the Xbox is actually emulating the original game

you can reassign the control buttons for the main game, I just fixed it to act like modern shooters. I just glad the game is available on other systems finally.

oh on xbox its just the crosshair thats stretched.... i'm realy stupid. i instantly put my tv into 4:3 mode because "hey its not true widescreen" and my up-down aiming was just horrible. now i know

pc version is out of date as fuck and you have to mod and change around the ini to get it to work properly on modern PC hardware.

looks like the Switch version is based on the ps2/pc code buy going off the lighting and textures as the Xbox version was the best looking when it first came out

Lol you really think the xbox version looked better than pc? The only time thats ever happened was with Indian Jones and the infernal machine on N64, and that was because factor 5 knew the N64 like the back of their hands. The xbox was basically a PC with a special version of directx 8, there is absolutely no way the xbox version looked better than the pc version.

@@highestsettings there's a video by rookervison on repubic commando from last year showing the differences I was trying to say was a lot of graphics features are broken but modders have fixed it and yes it looks way better on pc with the broken textures shadeing sorry for the confusion
