I learned how to play this for my rehearsal at school, and I felt so accomplished, so I decided to search KZbin to see my fellow brethrens' playing it... then I stumbled onto this video... and realized I played the "easy version." *cries*

Just a note, this piece is actually called Lux Aeterna (Latin meaning Forever), and is only called Requiem for a Dream because of its recurrence in the movie soundtrack. Some people also refer to it in the trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and there it is called Requiem for the Tower, and is (I believe) the same performance of Lux Aeterna as used in Requiem for a Dream. Just a little history lesson for you all. :D

It’s such an Astonishing, Powerful, Emotional, Heartbreaking feeling when a movie like ‘Requiem For A Dream’ (2000) can make you bawl your eyes out, and make you think this deep. From the editing, sound effects, acting & special effects...this film brings the effects and aftermath of drug abuse and addiction right into our eyes, since we can’t truly understand how terrible it is unless we are shown in a way like this. It’s a mistake most of us keep making since once we do it once we can’t stop. Nuff Said.

I agree, but I don't know some notes sounds fail. I mean the first chord is sol re, late re# la# and last is re la, and thus guy press different notes.....sounds cool but is different than I remember

Great cover :) but from a professional view, he just needs to loosen up and relax a little. This will help him not only in the long run, but when jumping from chord to chord - and octaves. Also watch for tempo change unless it's for stylistic purposes :) overall it was pretty awesome and fun to listen to!!

Очень грубое прикосновение к звуку. Всё звучит одинаково и в ушах постоянно стоит звон. Ну при игре надо же как-то ХОТЬ ЧУТЬ-ЧУТЬ разделять мелодию на фразы и вести динамику к кульминации.... а тут нет ничего. Один стук. Обидно.

You're right, the beginning is quite simple. It gets a bit more complicated from 1.20 : Beginners would not be able to play this last part as you need to be quite comfortable with your instrument

With diccicult he refers to that there is 2 diffrent versions of the song. One who's easier and one who's harder. shuld i call the video: Reqiuem for a dream (slightly harder version) piano????? According to that logic, the guy in the video did the exact same thing("raise you self above people") by saying the song he's playing is difficult. Notice how hardly any other videos are titled with the word "difficult", including the covers that are actually difficult to play. There's not only 2 version, there are others. and many are much harder than this one. Actaully, the title should just be, "Requiem For a Dream piano".
