Boomstick Gaming I’d say that it’s even better. With RE2, I’d have to play both campaigns to feel as if I’m getting a full game. Here, I can play this in an afternoon, and still feel like I’m getting a complete story. The difficulty levels also add a lot of replayability. Nightmare mode honestly feels like RE1’s arranged mode with the ridiculous difficulty level and giant array of enemies.

I think it's not as complete as REmake 2. What's there is all great but there simply isn't enough of it, the game s too short with too much cut content from the original. I can't help but feel they kind of waste a golden opportunity to play around in REs best and most iconic setting. They actually cut as much content as i thought they were going to add, the original was so short already. Where is the park and clock tower? Why doesn't Jill go to the RPD? I was looking forward to hearing her comments on the S.T.A.R.S office. Why is the trek from Jill's apartment to meeting the UBCS a single setpiece when it accounted for an hour of gameplay before? Some times the game is even egregious about the cut content like Carlos's journey to the hospital gets replaced with a "half a day later" title card. What is this, Spongebob Squarepants? He could have gone through the park. How cool would it have been to see a forested area in the middle of the night in this graphics engine? You put some hunters in there and that's guaranteed tension. Nemesis also mutates into the dog thing too early and they BUTCHERED Jill's iconic final words to it. That's all my major complaints, still a good game but i wanted more. I prefer the story elements and characterisation as well as the gameplay in this one for sure (though nemesis is too easy to drop), I'd recommend it over the original to new players for this alone, what they don't know is missing can't hurt them i guess.

One more tiny thing. When you find an upgrade, do not rush to stick it to your gun. Deplete your current magazine first(not fully ofc). Upgrading any gun will give you free clip of amunition.

Is it really true? I haven't played RE3Remake yet, but in RE2Remake, that exploit doesn't work on Leon's gun magazine upgrade, it CORRECTLY adds up the current bullets you have in the gun with the bullets contained in the magazine upgrade.

Well because it’s simply 3rd person shooter. Re2r was survival horror. Different kind of game to me. Plus graphics are downgraded low poly zombies, missing shadows here and there and no more realistic zombie damage. Big minus for myself.

You can use Carlos' shoulder check to keep knocking zombies back onto the floor. This is useful if you find one alone on the ground; just knife it 3-5 times, then press the dodge button to knock it back down, repeat until it is down for good.

That 45 degree angle point for dodging was so freaking helpful. I’m dodging so much better now. I was simply going 180 degree to the left or right or just going backwards previously and only getting it maybe 33% of the time. I was so ridiculously frustrated and didn’t think I could possibly suck that bad because my timing seemed on point. Now it’s 80% or more I’m successfully dodging. Thanks!

A good tip i picked up that applies to this as well as RE2R is to use gunpowder strictly for shotgun shells. The SG's extremely useful for clearing zombies from your path with it's one-headshot instant kill

Abuse AI path finding, some enemies cannot enter certain area, lickers cannot climb stairs. Any time you enter and area they can't go into their AI resets. Lol it's so broken sometime.

I notice, also, that when swiping with the knife, you can cut and hold back to immediately move backward after your swing. A minor detail, but helpful at times

When you use a grenade launcher and want to switch the ammo type but dont want to deal with the long reloading time. Switch the weapon and switch back and it'll be filled with that ammo type without having to go through the reloading animation.

Weapons ammunations tips Grenade launcher: hunter gamma and nimesis are vulnerable to flame rounds so make it your top priority when crafting GL ammunation after that the acid rounds become cuz of its effectiveness on hunter-beta And the explosive round doesnt have any specific use so i recommende to ignore crafting it BS its available accross the game world and the most common ones Bullet ammunations If attempt the hardcore difficulty dont craft shotgun shells cuz you will notice the tremendous amount of it accross the gamevs world if you search everywere and open every lock instead of that just craft handgun ammo and magnum ammo

I completely avoided using flame rounds on nemesis, because he was completely resistant to all that fire in the boss fight, i assumed fire didnt work on him. The explosive grenades were really useful during boss fights and against those face hugger looking zombies. One shot will kill one or 2, while the falame and acid didnt do shit, and it is hard to shoot them before they close there face.

The peak a boo trick always helps when there are to many enemies in one room. I found it super useful when you are playing a Carlos and come across the hospital room with two hunters guarding the cassette. Opened the door a bit and tossed a flash bang and a grenade and cleared the room in a few seconds.

The SWAT peek is super useful for the 2 hunters in the hospital room with the recording, especially on higher difficulties, you can chip away and let the door shut when they attack

But for me, all the fun is in overcoming the challenge set by the game by finding a way to beat it and getting good at it, I would rather do something else than play a game with cheats because that's no fun at all at least for me.

Knife parrying: When a zombie lunges at you, hold down left trigger (L2) and quickly tap back on analog and right trigger (R2). This performs a quick knife attack followed by a back step and staggers the zombie for about 2.5 seconds. *Knife must be equipped Also remember that the zombie's hitbox (when standing) isn't its hands or arms, it's their CHEST. So time escapes/parries by that.

Fantastic video. Just one slight amendment: blue coloured rooms do not mean you have 'completely found everything', rather, you have found all usable items. Charlie heads or documents will not affect the colour of the room, so some further searching may be required.

One minor tip I found b accident regarding the "farming" challenges: the Raiden (if you got it early on) counts towards the MAG kills. Just mentioning out for any1 that is too lazy to do 50 runs with the MAG in the lab killing paleheads

Not great at aiming so paleheads are a threat to me. I farmed the zombie crates that spawns 1 gamma and 5-6 zombies for mags. Normal zombs die most of the time even without a headshot. This is a short time after meeting Nikolai looking down on you and a few moments after the first palehead drops. Save before triggering the gamma crate and zombie crate.

Neat little thing when Nikolai is looking down at you. I do it before hopping down, but if you take aim for his head and take a shot at Nikolai, he'll switch his stance and lean to the right. Just thought that was a neat little detail

Also, if you stab at a zombie and it seems like its dead it still might not be dead, it's just not activated yet because you havent received the item to trigger it. Like the dead cop on the stretcher outside the subway station control center or the fat zombie by the safe upstairs from the subway control station.

Bonus tip: you don't actually need to counter an enemy with Carlo's R1 to get the punch. There's a specific timing to trigger it and let you enter bullet time if it connects if you press R1 right before the shoulder check animation ends.

Well yea that's just like Jill's perfect dodge, it automatically points at the enemy's weak point and goes in slow motion for about 2 seconds. Rewarding an easy kill.

Beating the game the first time unlocks an ingame store you can earn points for, I recommend the infinite ammo pistol as a first purchase as beating the game on medium gave me just enough points for it.

What was the deal with the green writing in The Nest folder? Was it to tell you the MAG was for Pale Heads, or something to do with the RailGun? Didn't get that as it seemed not to be tied with the nearly nonexistent puzzles I don't think it was a clue on the MAG location as I was way past that point. (Man, getting up there to drop down to get the MAG was wracking my brain. Guess thats what happens when puzzles/mechanics are only used once with no hint involved, I.E. needing Jill to crawl under the rubble). I could be wrong about all this as it was my 1st playthrough, going for 2nd now. I have no interest for REsistance, and I think they ROYALLY screwed up with scrapping Mercenaries, I would love to play as Mikhail. He was very badass Rambo esque in the Remake! If the Remake hadn't cut content/locations, hadn't recycled most weapons and included new ones and more selections, and above all included Mercenaries, I believe we would have had an atleast 9/10 on our hands. The game would have been better if it was made by the team behind RE2 Remake and not the mishmash of Ex Platinum and Capcom employees. And no you can't tell me the other team only worked on Resistance. If that's the case why are their names included in the RE3 credits? And the RE3 controls and gameplay are nowhere near as crisp as RE2, plus most of the lip-synching is god awful. I still love this game, but I wish they took the time and team it needed to make it a masterpiece on par with REmake 2. (Not that REmake 2 couldn't have used some extra care and attention also. ) I hope this doesn't follow the trend of histories past. A few good/great games followed by a trend of ever decreasing diminishing returns. Not that I still don't love the Resident Evil series. Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, and Twisted Metal III (Not really Twisted Metal anymore , tht fell into obscurity. But DAMN! TW III's soundtrack was epic,especially for the day. Rob Zombie tunes in a PS1 game about cars fighting with machine guns and r missiles? YES PLEASE!!! Those games were the reasons I bought a PSOne in 1998 and have been a PlayStation only fan since. (I still play others, but they are only the the older "GOOD" systems. NES, Super NES, N64, Gamecube, (I only it bought for RE4 which is a moot point now. But I love Zelda Twilight Princess which may be blasphemy,cause I think I like it more than Ocarina of Time.) And I think that may be it, I'm not a PC guy. I might have bought a few of those cheap one off sytems you plug into your tv to play bowling of tennis or something. Maybe I'll get one of those systems with 1000's of modded games on it for party gaming. Never really got into Wii or the like, i'm more into gaming with a conventional controller. Maybe when VR catches up.

I use Carlos' punching to keep zombies down and kill them with the knife. If you use it when they start getting up it'll put them right back down and you can get another few swipes before using it again. Also, if they don't use this mechanic for Chris in future games I'm gonna be pissed.

I would like to say that with Carlos, you can use the basic dodge (the shoulder attack) when you are knifing a zombie that is getting up to make it go to the ground and reset its animation, so you can keep knifing it until it dies (be aware that if they get up to a certain point, they can launch at you, so dont wait too much to make the shoulder attack)

Tip for dealing with alpha zombies (the standard ones that get upgraded with a leech-like mouth on their heads). If they are blocking your headshots, shoot them in the leg once to stun them and finish off with some headshots

@Boomstick Gaming, Alex, You can knife parry. Knife attack and hit away on the control stick at the same time and Jill will stab then step back. If this is done to an attacking zombie it will parry the attack, Jill will take no damage and it will cancel the zombies attack.

Yes it is. Jill begins her escape before the arrival of Leon and Claire and left after the event of RE2 because she've passed out for a day. All the events in RE:2 happened in just one night.

But there is one thing not adding up according to both Remakes. When Leon arriveat the RPD, both passages going right and left located in the RPD front court are blocked by nailed wooden lumbers, but Carlos break the left side lumbers when he tries to aid the sergent being attacked by Zombie Brad. So either we're missing something or we are both incorrect with the timing, because I do not think the sergent would have come back to repair the barrage which prevent Leon/Claire from going both sides.

Heres a good way to gain points for the store while working to unlocking the higher difficulties, so that its easier to get through the higher ones with upgrades. watch your progress on weapon challenges and try not to finish zombies with the knife. If they are down, stab them a few times, but let them get up so you can finish them with the pistol/rifle. There is oddly no challenge for killing with the knife. There is plenty of ammo on standard and hardcore, and I had like 45 shotgun rounds left over at the final boss, after I killed everything on my first standard run. This will make it easier on the next runs.

Put the lockpick on the first slot for quick use. Also healing items closer to the start position. You can put weapons off to the side in the inventory since you wont really interact with em in inventory. Also you can spoof nemesis by hanging out in a saferoom door and bouncing in and out

You can also do an invincible knife attack. You can tell when you did it right because Jill stabs sideways and back dashes.

btw, if you right click just before the timing for a perfect dodge you can just slide past enemies, it looks like a glitch. dodge is also bound to the aim button so its related to the dodge.

I recommend farming weapon kills and buying the rocket launcher with your points for the nightmare and inferno difficulties. Youll get slapped on the final boss without it Another tip is when you get punched for knocked down you can mash any button/key to get up faster

Brandon S doing an inferno run now with only all the coins an a handgun the coins increase my healing/attack/and defense and the handgun kills anything on nightmare/inferno with three to four shots that’s how useful the coins are and with the recovery coins I never have to use a first aid spray too easy

I was already doing these except for the dodges, helped a lot on my first playthrough. I thought I was so scaredy disciplined to do it, but didn't know it was part of the game lol.. "Open door --> aim, open door --->" lol..

Crazy i just started getting used to the dodge mechanic too. Earlier i was fed up with the hunter betas insta-killing me in the hospital as carlos so i decided to whip out my Zed-Sticker and bully them back and show them whos the real Hunter Alpha by giving them a taste of their own slashy stabby medicine. Well i can now say it's so much more satisfying to beat the undead hell out of the lizard freaks without even getting tore up. Im not spending another bullet on the "miniboss" zomboids ever again unless i have to lol
