Honestly, this was the worst movie of the series, in my opinion, because they went too far. They explain that the T-Virus has reached all corners of the globe, and somehow that means that the oceans dried up, making the cities dry, barren deserts. Basically, the world and human life has been fucked, the T-Virus has pretty much won, but....for SOME REASON, Umbrella still thinks it can be more evil than it was before. They accomplished more than any other super villain organization ever has, but they STILL think they haven't gone far enough? There isn't even civilization anymore, so what is the purpose? The creators just set this movie to fail, because everything was already lost, there's nothing to fight for. You could argue there are groups of humans surviving, but when oceans dry up, supposedly due to the virus, then they're royally boned.

Phoenixsword24 It's been ages since I've watched Apocalypse, but didn't they sort of handwave explain Angela's (was that her name??) need to keep taking the anti virus due to her also getting regular injections with the T-virus?? Like a sort of balancing act thing: Get the regenerative benefits of the virus, but without the nasty side effect of becoming the flesh eating undead. At least I think I saw vials in her suitcase thingy with T-virus (blue = bad, green = good; colour coded virus and anti-virus ftw!). It does beg the question as to how she stayed non-zombified or able to walk afterwards, since I doubt they would have had an easy time getting hold of more T-virus and its anti-virus, when Angela's supply eventually runs out. Maybe that's what did her in, preventing her from returning in Extinction, although that probably would have made way too much sense for that to fly in these movies. After all; nonsensical plot holes are the main staple of this franchise:S.

*Nekhet+* If you look at Angela's case, it's all Anti-Virus. They explain that Angela carries the Anti-Virus with her to counteract the side effects of the T-Virus that allowed her to walk. Once your infected, you stay infected. **wave hand** Plotholes! :3 According to the book, Alice killed Angela while being controlled by Umbrella's satellite. Ps. It was the T-Virus that was green in the games. But they change it to blue... And make the Anti-Virus green like the T-Virus originally was. **facepalm**

*Nekhet+* You must have been thinking of the first movie where Spence stole the T and Anti-Virus. Yes, there are five books. Though I've only read the beginning of RE1 (Genesis) and RE2 (Apocalypse). Though the books skip Afterlife. **facepalm** And they state in "The final chapter" book ver.that the Red Queen and white Queen were the same AI, just different hologrames. **facepalm** If you want to read GOOD RE novels, read the resident evil series by S.D Perry. (My favorite is "City of the dead" based on RE2) There is no REAL Anti-Virus in the games, though in RE3, Jill gets infected by Nemesis, so Carlos makes a "vaccine" for Jill, which is purple. (kinda like the G-Virus, but that's a different story) It's because of the vaccine that Jill is alive in RE5. It didn't erase the virus, just put it to rest. 11 years later, Jill was in Cryosleep, which woke the T cells. But, because it was in her body for over 10 years, she developed antibodies for it and most other poisons. The device on her chest injected her with P30, which gave superhuman abilites and obedience, but was VERY poisonous. But Wesker put it on her because she could survive the poison. RE5: 11 years in the making. ;p Yeah, I'm kind of a pro on Resident Evil. B)

RE3 Extinction was the last RE movie me and my best friend went to see in theaters. It began and ended just ridicules. Having the T-virus destroy the world was a terrible wrong path to take the movies. After the movie was over me and my friend seriously thought how stupid it was that Alice now has a clone army of herself. Clones were never even a thing in RE games. Also why is Alaska the only place in the world that has an ocean. How is that even possible?

fluffimator I think that as chaotic as it would become small groups would reorganize, and these groups will make villages and small cities, living in conditions humanity doesn't really know anymore...Today most people are fed, housed and live peacefully (there's notable exceptions but for most part we overcame famines, plagues and such horrible things that always kept humanity under the billion inhabitants) But that's a worst case scenario for the real world! This movie, as bad as it is, is indirectly aknowledging the fact that there's nothing worth living for anymore since everything and everyone is dead! Anderson's hillbillies characters are more lucid about the fact that there's nothing left and that this movie should have been the last... 😁

For posterity's sake: In the original Blip version of this review, Phelous played "Mahna Mahna" during the Alice clone sequence. Am I the only one who found some similarities with these movies and the Pulse trilogy? Both are based on something Japanese The movies keeps getting worse and worse by each installment The 1st one isn't that bad... at least compared to the sequels The 2nd one is terrible, but at least has the same setting than the source material The 3rd one the world is now post apocalypse because of stupid reasons At least the Resident Evil ones doesn't have pointless screening and it is not Direct-to-DVD But the RE movies would be better if they kept it as a trilogy, just like Pulse...

ah these movies have moved from being bad to actually making me angry by the terrible overuse of bloody Alice, they may as well now they have clones and all not even have any other actors in the next movie. Though I suppose at least if there are clone Alices then some of them are gonna have to mess up and be killed in the next movie.

I'll say this: Alice having super powers after being infected MIGHT have worked. I helped create a universe where characters who were immune to the zombie virus got superhuman abilities, but in that universe, the zombie virus was originally supposed to be a super soldier serum that went wrong and became virulent. Somehow...my co-creator and I never quite got around to that detail.

Well... Her super powers included the ability to blow up people's head... and she also had the ability to transmit it through a camera so that a person watching it on the other side would die. So basically the T-Virus is Mitachlorians.

So was Resident Evil about a zombie virus ergo zombie horror movie or was this about mutants? Because of all the mutant creatures with zombie like traits and weird predator squid mouths like in Blade 2... And Blade Trinity they had mutant vampire dogs and a Pomeranian in that one.
