The RE series is like a dolphin or a whale. It began its evolutionary path as a sea creature (survival horror), then evolved in various stages into land mammals (third person action games). Eventually it decided to evolve back into a sea creature (back to horror). This game is one of those hideous transitional stages that was too derpy to live but was an important stepping stone evolutionarily.

I'm enjoying watching through your playthrough :D Revelations gave me hope for the series after not being super into 5 or 6's action heavy gameplay. I think that modernish controls with a mix of action and horror worked out great and helped pave the way for the RE2 and RE3 remakes :D I originally played it on the 3DS (even bought the circle pad pro), and then later on the Wii U (although it had pretty rough deadzone issues on that port). Next time I play I'll try on PC with M+KB.

I used to be one of those people that said 7 brought re back to its roots. But when a freind gifted me the switch double pack I realised how much I missed out on. I think the only things I dont like are the enemy design and some of the pacing in rev 1. Rev 2 is almost perfect.

@@alexs7670 Agreed, I played Rev 2 with my brother and it was one of the best Resident Evil experiences I've had. Bought the bundle on my Switch and played it by myself and just as good. Resident Evil 5 will forever be my favorite though just because of nostalgia with my bro

Howdy Bawk! You may or may not know, but since I was watching through the VOD, I thought I'd chime in on something I learned about the weird Promenade Hall boss. Its only one hit kill attack is when it grabs you with its big monster mouth. Otherwise, you're not going to get insta-killed. Infernal might be different, but I dunno yet. i actually prefered this game on the 3ds for the sole reason that it had laser sight aim. was not a big fan of the cross hair in this game it always seemed off. but this was one of my favorite games when it originally came out.

When Bawk gets in his rant about food and cooking he stays on it for an hour at least. But with healthy foods, people need to get into the habit of eating those kinds of foods. Right now the majority of people in the new world alone is just too addicted to quick fast food. If you tell someone that you made a lima beans with a ham bone to give it flavor they will turn their nose away (my wife does that to be every time). This is why when my son gets old enough to eat something other than baby food I will be sure to limit the fast food he gets (going to be hard since my wife loves fast food) and try to cook him all kinds of dishes. With my in South Korea, Germany, Japan, and France I am sure I can have him taste those kinds of dishes and love them like myself.

Bawk Guide 9 month later ... „How To Evade in Revelations“ -U must tilt ur movement forward BEFORE the enemy’s attack would hit u, ur character gonna do an dodge animation and outplay the enemy. Or u do an QUICK TURN right before u get hit, this is an combination of Attack avoid an turn to get some space between u and the enemy. „Ammo save and Combat“ -Re4 started it, allows u to do an attack on stunned enemy’s, Revelations is abit different bc to stun ur enemy’s u have to „break“ the arms of them first -> Ooze type (common enemy). Ofc this depends on the enemy what are u facing. „Scanning is annoying“ The scanner is an important tool through the Story, but it seems that is „slowdown gameplay“ but it’s not the case, when looking through ur scanner there is an indicator down right, is there an Yellow dot u are able to find something in ur current room with it. No yellow dot ? ... there is nothing to get on ur Location. Oh don’t forget to Scan enemy’s for herbs what u will gain when hit 100% on scan progress, Bonus Tips. Scanning an „living“ Enemy provides more percentage on scan progress then dead enemy blood pools. Revelations is one of my fav Re games, after Re5 it was fresh on Horror atmosphere and survival elements like lesser ammo or harder enemy’s ... still sad here that Re5 was to much action, atleast coop was fun.

I just can't shake how... bizarre using chaff to misdirect an orbital weapon is. I mean you're not going to use it on a rapidly moving target so you may as well just punch in GPS coordinates since the only way to effect that is to either hack the GPS targeting system on the ground or satellite or the ENTIRE GPS network.

Incase you haven't noticed , you can't stack illegal parts into 1 weapon.... Meaning the the Double Shot into the Pistol with Charged Shot ( While Charging then shooting you just charged the 1st shot actually , while the other shot is Fired with Normal Damage ). I'd stick with Charged Shot only specialy with the Crit Part with others like Fire Rate and Damage of course... The best is 100% Damage with the Charged Shot , making the Pistol 50% more Powerful with the Extra 100% Damage Mod. Not to say Double Shot isn't good as its mainly for Speed Runs and when you dont have an Automatic Weapon equipped... However your better off with Extra damage + Charged Shot if you got the MP5 Assult Rifle untill you aquire the Magnum ( Magnum deals roughly x4 times a Charged Shot from the other new Pistol along with the Damage Mod , but giving you got access to other Handgun Pouches its better leaving the Pistol out with Charged Shot + 100% Damage Part and Fire Rate , while having a Shotgun and Assult Rifle. )

@@Haqua_ It’s not so much that it’s better optimized as the system requirements are lower due to it being a 3DS game port. Rev 2 was a straight console game, so the requirements were naturally higher.

Rev 1 is a good game in my opinion but there are annoying parts of the game that are a dread to play. I wish they would make a game with the ship idea in mind but make it more horror related i loved the ship aspect of this game but i know it could be better

This was the last main line game I finished, and I gotta say it might’ve been my least favorite experience in the whole main series. The chapter structure seems to betray the potential of having a big cruise liner to explore. Not to mention the plot, one of the more nonsensically complicated in the series.
