We put a 6” latex foam mattress on our Murphy bed on our Imagine 17MKE and oh so much better! We are full-time and the original mattress was “gone” in less then 4 months.

It's nice that there's enough additional space to handle a mattress update. I guess GD knows that's the first thing that most new owners replace. I sometimes wonder why they even bother to put a mattress in the trailers since it's just going to the dump.

Which Grand Design trailer is that? I’m thinking of getting the Aim 14MS and I’m pretty sure it’s only 76 inches long. Will that make a difference?

I have the Epro 19FD with a Murphy bed. I called the same company and was told the mattress should not be stored vertically. Some thing about the glue failing.

That’s why I went with the 8 inch. Less layers. Even if the glue fails where will it go? I’m chancing it. No one can sleep on the junk from the factory.

We are getting a Jayco 21MML which has a similar Murphy bed setup. The stock mattress is a short queeen that they call a "bendy" one bc it bends to fold up. I wondered if that would be a problem with the BB mattress you have? With the creases you showed, it appears that yours bends, too. Is that right? I also got the UnderTopper that looks so nice on yours, so thanks for the tips!

Curious if you were replacing an "RV short" queen on this - that's what's in my Grand Design Imagine. The frame seems like it could take a full queen - but I've not seen anyone actually say that this was even possible. What did you do?

All Grand Design Imagines are residential queens. If you have a short mattress it must have been replaced at some point. This was a residential queen as well. Fits like a glove.

I wish manufacturers would dress up the underside of murphy beds so that they don't look so terrible in the 'up'. position. Heck, they could even create an easy fix for the mattress muffin top with a flip-up or flip-down piece of trim to cover it. Residential murphy beds look so much better.

We also have a Murphy Bed and we just came back from going cross country from Florida to California and back and spent 49 nights in our travel trailer. We had a custom mattress made for us in the US for our bed and the seam was made at the bottom of the mattress instead of on top like the kind we replaced. Tochta Journey Mattress and it is great so much so we bought one for our home. No crease and less expensive than BB.

We have Tochta in our other trailer. Good stuff. Our Tochta mattresses weren’t inexpensive though. Which BB line are you referring to? This queen retails for $449… I can’t imagine a queen Tochta is less. Matter of fact I just looked it up. $750 for a queen journey mattress from Tochta.
