Resin Art - Yellow Springtime Flower Petri

It's springtime! But if you're like me, you're most likely sitting inside these past few weeks. Today we will make some bright flowers in resin for display. I'm going to be using 6" petri dishes and T-Rex Alcohol Inks. The first one we will draw flower petals and the second one will be a spiral. Resin can be tricky, I will also show you my first attempt where it did not turn out the way I wanted. Which one is your favorite?

I was wondering how people made those flowers, thank you! Did you let the resin sit at all before squeezing in the colored resin? Also, although the first attempt didn't turn out how you wanted, they still look pretty cool.

No, I didn’t let it sit on purpose, but between mixing the various colors and setting up the camera for a good angle, it probably did sit for a few minutes.

I think the reason for the first attempt for being blobby is’nt that you poured to much, i think the resin did’nt sit for long to get a bit thicker … Thays my perception cx thats how mine turned out

I think you added too much white on the previous coasters as white is heavier. But your new coasters look great

I used Castin' Craft pigment in white. and I usually add 1-2 drops per 20 ml

It’s a pigment white. You can use alcohol white too but it is more feathery

Cast'n craft, it's a bit heavier I think than alcohol ink.
