This is inspiring for me, having had fatty liver, been vegan for 9 months, but gaining some weight and using oil, salt, and lots of fruit (sugar?). Id like to try SOS, wfpb, and eat more greens...

Thank you, Jeff! You’re the BEST. Here’s my sweet hubby’s quote for you, “I don’t want to eat garbage or carnage.” He cheerfully went vegan with me overnight on 9/19/19 in our sixties, and we cured a multitude of ills including colon polyps, AMD, IBS and pre-diabetes. Most of all, our souls are now happy in these bodies. We’re so tired of “WFPB” podcasters who avoid the “vegan” word because it’s anathema for them to allude to empathy for animals, much less love… then they agonize over people “tempted to cheat” on their healthy plant-based diets. DUH! We don’t have that problem! Compassion creates the aversion that eliminates all attraction to animal food. THANKS AGAIN ❤️

@@BunyonandBabe2 awesome! I love what you're saying here! I can't stand people avoiding the vegan word. It's like they're scared to they stand up for what's right and say they care and say they don't want to hurt animals, it's like they're almost vegan but they still want to abuse animals. And people doing that leaves them vulnerable to cheating like you say. @@SuperFoodParents totally! Before I went on my first run of interviews this year I spent some time working on the website for VeganLinked.com and created a new site called RaisingChildrenVegan.com. On both websites I started a new blog feature for members. So you could share some of your recipes there if you want. If you have your own site for recipes you can link back to it from the recipe. And your recipe is connected to your profile where people can see your other recipes, listings, and events if you add more than one. And there's no ads!!! There's only a few recipes there right now. Those were just to get it going. I haven't promoted anything really regarding these websites, not beyond passively. There are still a few two tweaks I want to make before I create content specifically for the websites. Then I may promote them more aggressively. But it's getting a lot of passive traffic at least. Right now you can log in and post a recipe pretty quick and easy. If you're interested I can make a little video on how to take it to another level with some basic stylizing.

Processed food manufacturers need to hear from consumers that less ADDED chemicals, sugar, oil and salt is wanted in their food products. Why is there so much ADDED sugar in everything, even bread. That's just crazy Email, text, tweet or phone your favorite producer of poison and let them know consumers want less salt, oils and sugars in their products. Let their customer service department know that all the extra added salt, oil and sugar is not necessary or desired and is causing health issues. Reduce or eliminate highly processed food from your diet if you can.

I think many vegans go through the same stage eating what we think is a vegan diet and then realising that we are still eating a lot of processed food and using things like olive oil on our salads etc. These days I have also moved to a WFPBD and almost cut out all oils and I avoid almost all of the vegan products.
@VeganLinked2 ай бұрын
@@Tridhos yeah, there's a learning curve to getting into a whole food vegan diet for sure. I think though when you're eating a well-planned whole Food vegan diet a little oil might actually be advantageous. But just a little. And high quality oil. But I'm just basing that off of a couple of cardiologists I've had on this channel and some of the science, and people like Nick the Nutrivore, Bryan Johnson, and Dr Nagra. I think a high polyphenol count in the mix helps offset the metabolic oxidation. The problem with oil tends to be related more to consuming too much from restaurants, and then adding it to recipes, and having a lot of processed foods. But if you are preparing and cooking everything at home then you can control your oil and salt intake and keep it to a proper minimum. You don't want too much of anything really you want a variety. So you don't want too much spinach either so you want a variety of greens for example. Quality sources, variety and proper portion sizes are key. Kind of like Hara hachi bo.

@FoodLover-zw7pj interesting, I don't know who those people are who look so bad but I imagine you're probably making accurate observations especially if they are cutting out other healthy fats like nuts and seeds. And some of those no SOS people tend to go a little too far with it. And you're probably right that omitting too much fat can show itself via skin because one of the symptoms of being deficient and omega-3s for example is dry elbows. Some people do have a problem maintaining control and weight but they probably just need to work on their behaviors and at least portion control nuts and seeds if they're going to omit oil. It's interesting you brought up the stroke potential. I think Dr Nagra reference something like that, that is a potential reduction in stroke risk for those who consume oil. There could be some genetic predisposition for certain people who come from a nomadic lineage where fat storage was advantageous and exogenous sources of elongated fatty acids. Super theoretical though... But makes a lot of sense. Those people can take an algae supplement LOL. And they might want to avoid oil if they have a hard time portion controlling and staying close to a caloric deficit.

Go vegan for your health, whole food plant based. Go vegan for the animals. Go vegan for the planet. Go vegan and be healthier and happier. A lower risk of heart disease and cancer for you and a better planet for everyone, human and animals. Eating healthy is not a diet it is a healthy life style. Go out and look around. The vast majority of people you see are obese or al least over weight. People do not need to be fat shamed BUT being over weight is not healthy and leads to a host of illnesses. When you look around you can see all the unhealthy people without taking a blood test or a fitness test "NORMAL" for the average American is "UNHEALTHY" The health of society is in decline.

Riding a bicycle is a great way to exercise. Ebikes are bringing many older adults back to cycling. Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles. Safe protected bike lanes and trails are needed so adults and children can ride safely. Speak up for bicycles in your community. Bicycles make life and cities better. Ask your local transportation planner and elected officials to support more protected bike lanes and trails. Children should be riding a bicycle to school and not be driven in a minivan. Be healthier and happier. Ride a bicycle regularly.

@@JakeRichardsong True, but once you are preparing everything at home and have total control over what you're consuming and eating a proper variety of whole vegan foods a dash of salt and a splash of oil might actually be good for you.
