Earth AD is one of the greatest punk songs ever. Right up there with Banned in DC

NO NEED TO ANALYSE THIS ALBUM TOO MUCH. PUT THE RECORD ON AND JUST LISTEN. Not many, late seventies or eighties, punk bands had good production. EXPLOITED, CRASS, SHAM 69, CHAOS UK, BAD BRAINS, DISCHARGE, BROKEN BONES, UK SUBS and so on. LIVE. THATS WHERE THESE GUYS DID THE HARD WORK AND SWEAT. You heard about the gig, bought tickets, saw the show, the band left an impression on you, saved up some money and bought the records. Everyone will have an opinion but don’t let that opinion stop you from listening to any band. Check things out for yourself and then make your mind up. YOU WILL NEVER KNOW . YOU MIGHT JUST LIKE IT.

Thanks you. This is what I always tell people. Don’t go into something with preconceived ideas. At least try listen to it once before coming to a conclusion. I always try at least twice unless I found it unbearable because I can change my mind real quick.

I love the Misfits. One of my favorite bands of all time, and I think Static Age, 12 Hits From Hell, and Walk Among Us are all top tier punk albums (in that order). That said, I completely agree with this assessment and I think too many fans have let their love of the band as a whole blind them to its inadequacies. Neither the songs or the production are strong enough to make up for one another. Despite having 3 additional tracks tacked on, it still feels like a half-release. Even the members of the band weren’t happy with it when it came out. Robo also had no concept of tempo whatsoever, especially live. I know this pains fans to hear, but it’s 100% true. The Misfits were better at being The Misfits rather than trying to emulate the status quo of early 80s speed punk. Everyone’s defense of this album is that it’s brutal and fast, but never that the songs are actually good. But fast playing isn’t special. Fortunately everything that lead up to this point was and still is.

I’m 16. I’m growing up around some of the most overproduced/polished pop, trap (can’t believe people actually call it “rap music” when there’s rarely any rapping) yet this is still one of my favourite records. I’ve thrashed this album this year. The more I listen to it, the more I love it. I like every song on here and whilst the inconsistent production (or lack thereof) is definitely prominent, it doesn’t really bother me too much at all. In fact, I think it adds to the Misfits aesthetic perfectly. Kind of sounds spooky to me how some things are harsh, some things are faint or drowned out at times. I love it. Light 6 is too harsh. I might have to get Fantano onto you!

I felt like slap dashing this douche after watching 10 minutes of a repetitive metrosexual rant. A more appropriate topic for it would of been maybe wine, I was going to say craft beer but it's estrogen level is way too high for all that.

They were never hardcore. They went from punk to thrash. Earth AD was recorded on one day in Michigan while on tour.

Noice review, Earth AD/Wolf’s Blood is a kicks album. The Misfits are cool and founder/song-writer/singer Glenn Danzig is the man. He is so awesome. Other than that, cool:).

He’s also kind of a Diva and a douchebag. Don’t get me wrong I admire his songwriting and music skills but don’t think he’s really that good a guy.

Damn this guy is criticizing Earth AD and he called “Queen Wasp” “Wasp Queen”... stick to something you know dude.... this is an innovative album and maybe it was slapdash like you keep saying because the band was on the verge of breaking up... pretty damn good hard fuckin album for a band on their way out.

Maybe you could do a review of Initium by Samhain next. When I want a catchy and more serious Misfits I come to this album but then Glenn kept the more serious nature but slowed down in Samhain and adding atmosphere. I wish I could find more thrash/punk like Earth AD. The mix makes it sound like a train endlessly coming. I love Demonomania, honestly. How fast and nasty it is. Then Wolfsblood would be my favorite with the maniacal delivery.
