I grew up vegetarian (not vegan) and it was never about the animals, it was just the way we grew up. I'm an adult now, and I remember about a year or so ago, I saw a video talking about cognitive dissonance, and how people don't like to realize just how much harm animals are put through when they consume animal products. The video briefly showed a clip of what one of these factories looked like and I was horrified. I definitely understand why vegans feel so strongly about the cruelty in the industry, and care so much about keeping animals away from that hell. It is interesting to hear these things from actual vegans, though. Some of these are thoughts I'd have too, even during family discussions we'd have thoughts like 'what if the farm is good?' I think I agree with y'alls responses to the questions posed. Veganism is something I definitely agree with even if I am not an active vegan myself. You two seem lovely and I will absolutely be subscribing!

@@LudoCrypt amazingly open and honest response. Couldn't agree more. If you don't mind me asking, why are you not vegan yet?

@@veganvaudeville309 I don't think I'll ever become a full vegan, I'm not really an activist, I don't particularly care to try and fix society. (Not saying that that's all being vegan is). I really just don't care enough to make the effort (of like making sure everything is 100% vegan). The most I'd do is like not buy milk or eggs

@@LudoCrypt thanks for the reply. Veganism is just making sure you are not exploiting animals. Activism is trying to persuade others to do the same. You don't have to be an activist. If you are already vegetarian, then swapping cow's milk for any plant milk and tofu for eggs would sort out the dietary part easy. Every vegan I know, without exception wishes they had gone vegan sooner. If you need any advice at all, let me know, I'm an activist of 5 years. Peace

Oh man I remember gradeaundera, that was such a different era of KZbin man, heard it he did some nasty things to some of his community members, so I don't think he's really respected anymore.

Funny response video. I like the crow meal response. It just made me think that the crow may have also killed another animal instead of eating the roadkill, therefore saving another life.

Good point, and one that I have never thought of in my nearly 8 years of vegans living. Be well 👍.

What's funny is we say the same thing about each other all the time. Whether you're a meat eater or a veggie. But also I guess we are what we eat

Because like I say I am family. That is veterinarians or training to be veterinarians. And I have family that are human doctors too

See, the other thing is that I've been most of us. Know that everything feels pain whether or not It's animals or plants. And I can be 10 times nasty I mean my name is literally Lucius And also I've ended people's careers. I'm so nasty I've actually been super nice but also I find vegetarians and vegans vary annoying.

I recognize I'm a part of the animal kingdom, food chain, and i eat what my body was evolved to be able to digest. Omnivorous. But to each their own!
@veganvaudeville3093 ай бұрын
@@LTHXR-sv4iq we also evolved to be able to digest and thrive solely on a plant based diet. Scientifically proven for decades. Knowing that, you are just left with the choice to pay for unnecessary animal cruelty or not.
@LTHXR-sv4iq3 ай бұрын
@veganvaudeville309 Eating meat doesn't equal animal cruelty. Not eating meat also doesn't stop animal cruelty. I'm an omnivore that eats what he's able to digest and most importantly enjoy. You're an omnivore choosing to be a herbivore because you believe running the meat industry out of business stops assholes from abusing animals. It doesn't. Just stops them from being eaten afterwards.

You're an omnivore trying to be a herbivore because you believe running the meat industry out of business stops animal cruelty. It doesn't. Even plant-based industries can contribute to cruelty-think about large-scale monocrop farming, which can destroy habitats and kill countless small animals during harvest. The issue is bigger than just what’s on your plate.
@veganvaudeville3093 ай бұрын
@@LTHXR-sv4iq the meat that you personally are eating definitely does cause animal cruelty. Please explain why it wouldn't. There will always be animal cruelty. Veganism is about your own contribution to that cruelty. As an omnivore you already eat plants, so all you need to do is eat more of them. There are also plant based versions of everything you currently eat. Some taste better, some taste worse but most are healthier. Yes of course I want all forms of animal agriculture to stop as it's inherently cruel and no it wouldn't stop all animal cruelty. I agree that veganism isn't cruelty free, we try our best to minimise suffering. It's impossible to live on this planet and not hurt animals. Intention is key here and vegans are trying to change the way crops are farmed. Eg vertical farming, hydroponics and multi crop. If you are worried about crop deaths then you should know that far more of these animals are killed to feed the animals you eat than if you ate the drops directly. As far as environmental damage is concerned, animal agriculture is devastating to the planet as a whole and uses far more land. Veganism concerns any type of animal exploitation including sport, hunting, zoos, clothing, travel, medics, testing etc. Are you even against animal cruelty because your redundant, spurious reasons for it say otherwise?
@LTHXR-sv4iq3 ай бұрын
@veganvaudeville309 I'm definitely against hurting animals. But I'm also aware that farms are a trade-off; the animals get a life free of fear for predators, free of starvation, dehydration and disease. In return, we have their flesh. The explanation you asked for is simple; an animal can die without suffering. This means eating meat doesn't equal animal cruelty. Yes, I'm aware lots and lots of farms don't do it this way. Yes, I'd be naive if I claimed that all animals are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve on these farms. But my dietary choices are mine to make. Choosing vegan simply isn't for me, and I'd happily contribute to boycotting any meat industry as long as they've proven to abuse their animals. But not every farmer is this inhumane. As for your points about climate; it's disastrous. But it's not something veganism is gonna save because even if we all spontaneously teleported livestock and their crops into space we'd still be waist high in the sh!t, and you know it.

He mentioned the cow "drop dead hear and then" and I imagined it's on a field dying, not a road kill. In that case I would say he wouldn't want to eat it, as either it's dying from a disease, which could infect him as well or it's dying from being old, which probably doesn't make good tasting meat. And why eating that, if (like you explained) there are good plant based alternatives?
@tyke2693 ай бұрын
Agreed, though of course with farmed animals, they never have chance to grow old. Be well.
