For me this is definitely one of his best clips, i think it was even the first I watched from him. It’s totally unpolitical and like his core message, to bear responsibility and to make something out of yourself. It just resonates with me!

Definitely one of the better ones (coming from someone who frequently criticizes Peterson). Though personally I feel he has things a bit reversed, since a person has to decide what they want (and that's a goal, _which is meaning_ ) and that's what generates the responsibilities (the things one must do to pursue that meaning).

I lived my entire life not taking responsibility for myself, my decisions or my actions. Everything was always the fault of something else, my urges, my circumstances, others , you name it. I often find myself being bitter because of the awful circumstances that have been a result of my own decisions and actions. If I can teach anyone anything. Your circumstances are often a direct result of your decisions and actions. You have to take responsibility and make an effort.

Ultimately, man should not ask what the meaning of his life is but rather must recognise that it is he who is asked. In a word each man is questioned by life and he can only answer to life by answering for his own life. To life he can only respond by being responsible. -Victor Frankl

Great message from a great book. If you enjoy ideas about mastery and masculinity, I invite you to explore the videos I share on the Mastery Order Channel. Challenge yourself with some concepts about manhood, explore your masculine potential to the maximum and become the kind of man you would admire. We can only better ourselves together, as men among men, so I invite you to use what I share and, of course, share your own opinions so that others can benefit from them as well. My condolences for your loss. As challenging as it may be to become a mature man with a vision for his life without a father figure to guide you, it is not impossible. Look up to honorable men of character that are willing to share with you their knowledge and build yourself into a man of strength and character, a man of your word. Build up your skills and put them to use in the service of others and you will find fulfillment in life. In the memory of your father, become the man that he would be proud of. You have it in you. I had a very left leaning co worker that i use to work with...she was highly intelligent in a number of different topics. One day she came to a very similar conclusion JP did in a lecture i listened to a week before. All i said was "have you ever listened to a Jordan Peterson lecture on this topic?" she rolled her eyes and the conversation ended abruptly there. Later from another co worker i heard she said she didn't think she could be friends with me if i was a JP fan. It was obvious she hadn't never actually listened to him before....just bit on the headlines of what people wrote about him and formed her opinion. It was a disappointing to say the least

I get how people judge him. A lot of his views sound pretty radical when taken out of context (which is almost always with lefties). What's not understandable is how people can become so hateful off of only seeing a few clips. I guess it's because, if what Jordan is saying is true, then that means they're wrong. So dismissing him as a nazi is easier than changing their own values.

Thanks so much, Pescador de Hombres! Becoming a mother changed everything for me. I became less agreeable, because of the instict to protect. It gave me superpowers. My boy is now considered as special education. It hit hard because I'm a teacher. Most teachers are women, and many are mothers. No one will love your child like you, and I can't love a student as my child. Thin red line. It was a very hard lesson, but a necessary one, as I've heard you use that phrase in your biblical series. I'm grateful for my life. You've helped me SO MUCH. No one has helped as much as you have, and yet we don't know eachother. I hope one day to meet you. Please live a long life. Gracias! Te amo!

As JP said, the moment i heard the word "responsibility" my eyes opened wide and i could hear the calling. Because in a decade of marriage and having a child, not being appreciated for the hard work and sacrifices, really dims it off and makes it undesirable, especially for someone who has enough to deal with already (Stateless). and thats what i thank JP for, other wise, i was busy dwelling on my self worth for too long in front of this PC playing elden ring and league of legends, and feeling bad after that, even thu i have won and achieved in the game. #1: opinions are like sphincters. Everyone has one! #2: I think you're right... partially. It certainly points the person in a positive moral direction. However, I know many (as I'm sure you do as well.) people who have what an observer would call a responsible career or lifestyle. And I know from talking with some of them that they are not only unhappy, but one friend should probably seek professional medical advice (at least). But to a healthy mind, it certainly lays down a good foundation for inner happiness or contentment with one's own life. I hope you find the inner peace that everyone trys to rob from you, in one sense or another. Love the videos, by the way. I don't have any friends who like watching and discussing your videos. I did but they found something else and now they have become like a zombie (really... drugs! And not even the good stuff, lol. All the best to ya....d.

In the Clifton’s Strength Finder from Gallup, one of the themes is Responsibility. A person with Responsibility in their top 5 has a feeling of executing tasks, bearing the burden of finishing what you start. He is totally right about that it is very hard to find your responsibility as a man, especially as a young man in the modern day time and the social landscape. I think many of them feel left out of the discussions of today and it is very hard for them to figure out what to do about it, feeling helpless and alone with their problems. Everyone has his package but the hardest thing is if you need to figure out what this package is and its even harder to constantly take care and develop it/keeping it together. The problem is that women often feel attacked by this fact even though its just used to point out a problem thats very significant and has a big impact on overall society, especially the western. But they shouldn't because their problems are beeing discussed on a big frame (which they should) but one's should be allowed to discuss the problems of the other side aswell without beeing attacked for it. Very good speech Mister Peterson 👍

How do you bear responsibility without being a pushover or a doormat? That is one of my main struggles. People will see you taking responsibility at work for the shit that no one else wants to do, and they just give you more of the shit work. Also, modern women are almost impossible to satisfy. No one wants to settle down with a boring working man anymore.

I had expectations about certain life paths that turned out to be wrong, and I was wrong and I signed up for things that I really didn't have any business signing up for and was responsible for things that I could not have foreseen. This didn't happen just once or twice, many major ideas and expectations that I have had about life turned out to be flat wrong. I think this starts to breed cynicism over time, you start expecting to be wrong and considering worse possibilities. I started becoming more and more pessimistic, I think this is a coping strategy, if everything is bad, I am right, historically I am wrong a lot of the time. But my point is that over time you become cynical and less and less willing to commit on risky or massively changing things. You want to invest in sure bets, but the world doesn't have those on offer. How can you be responsible for something that you cannot predict? At the end of the day, you can only be responsible for yourself and you can never escape that responsibility. Be careful which dotted lines you sign; a lot of things turn out quite different from what you might expect.

Being responsible is my anchor. Sadly it leaves me alone because most everyone I meet is shallow or self consumed. Elders still don’t understand what they don’t know and the younger think they can find their own way. It’s a shit show for me as I get to know where you been who you are, what you stand for, and that tells me what you know and where we can use our strengths and weaknesses together in a complimentary way to get things accomplished. I’m too straight and real to operate in the upper leagues and too far in depth to not make the typical people looking for a paycheck not exposed. I thrive alone with things to accomplish but now I’m older or working on bigger things that one man isn’t enough for usually because of time constraints. I’m a blend of the old and the new as grew up under the old code but also use technology where advantageous. So the old can’t get in the new game or won’t and the new won’t learn the old game and think there has to be an easier way. No place to get away from this hell…….. btw I’m not I’m not perfect or righteous just a man that doesn’t fit in. Done and worked to earn it and it’s always been taken away and given to someone. Now just a bunch of dysfunction and stupid talk every where men or women still trying to figure it out while claiming foolish ways and thinking. I can’t even laugh at stupidity anymore it’s so prevalent on all sides of me and my sons. Wife is on their team……..

responsibility brings life meaning ONLY when success is tide to it. when one has responsibilities and does everything they can to fulfill them only to fail in the process to do so repeatedly regardless of efforts does not give life meaning but instead makes life a living fucking hell to which the desire to eat a bullet becomes more desirable then bothering to keep trying. by the way no im not talking about making mistakes and moving forward, im talking about trying and trying not for days, nor weeks, nor months or even years but for fucking decades!!! only success can save the broken, absolutely nothing else will. taken me over 40 years to figure out why the hell i find death such a beautiful thing while living in hell. people call such ways and thoughts as suicidal. well suicide just may be the only success some people have in the entirety of their lives....

I believe that Jordan Peterson is absolutely right on basically every issue. But LOVE is our responsibility and truth be told? LOVE is what gives life meaning. Love and The Lord of spirits aka GOD. But GOD is LOVE remember? And most assuredly life would mean nothing without Him. GOD allows bad things to happen so that in our inevitable pain and torment of mind we might turn back to Him seek His Face and His Mercy and His Joy and be set free Forever! GOD never said we should be satisfied in a cursed world full of death! Quite the opposite! Literal immortality is real. But people believe in nothing. Not even themselves. Drowning in despair they DIE and never ever find Rest even in death! A tragedy that is too great and terrible to bear! Therefore BELIEVE! And LIVE!!!!!!!!! Dr. Peterson Sir? You have all my deepest respect. But respectfully Sir? The DEVIL is REAL and not merely some archetype or some character in a story. The devil or Satan is an angel yes but fell from his former wisdom by reason of his own beauty or PRIDE. The devil is a spirit and still has access to heaven at certain times. He is a spirit but an extremely powerful and intelligent spirit. A master of LIES and the reason that cancer exists. The devil is a genius having the high intellect of at least ten brilliant people and the deep experience and memory of thousands of years of murder and theft through lies and deceit. I assure you he is REAL. And the powers of the earth are his for the most part. GOD still controls everything but when humans who have free will tell GOD to go away He respects their choices. GOD will not continue to BLESS with food and water where He is NOT wanted! The only reason we have anything is because of GOD! We must seek GOD or we will lose everything indeed! Turn back faithless people! Turn back! The Lord promised us that near the End He would make: “The wise and prudent of the world into fools and will simultaneously make many of the fools wise!” This HE has now accomplished to extremely high degree in the earth!!! Therefore the former foolish street person God has exalted to wisdom in many cases. And the majority of PhDs have become sheer fools. Indeed there are literally mentally retarded people that have more understanding more logic and more wisdom than many Ivy League PhDs! Dr. Peterson? You know that this is TRUE. You implied this in your “12 rules” book when you called your foolish colleagues “base and unsophisticated” etc. You know that it’s true. So then: don’t believe a word they say! Believe none of their idiotic stupid idiot theories! They know NOTHING my friend. For spirits certainly and absolutely exist all over our world. I know this because I used to practice various forms of witchcraft and I have seen them with my eyes. And I have perfect vision even now. I have had to deal with the spirits on many levels. They know who I am. They know my name. And I know many of theirs. They are watching the human population as they always have. And people of the last two centuries have started calling them “aliens” as if it were so simple as them being from another planet! It’s not. They know us intimately. Their history is bound up with ours as a Race. It always has been! And some people are even related to them genetically (especially monarchs and heads of state). Listen to me! These spirits war against us with the devil! There is the ancient war for our souls! And they are the enemies of our souls most assuredly. There is no doubt my friend! And YOU ARE ALMOST OUT OF TIME! Dr. Peterson! Stand and BELIEVE before it’s too late! Come out and choose a Side! Because if you don’t GOD will not uphold your position when the Overwhelming Scourge passes through! You know what I’m referring to! The HOUR OF TRIAL for the whole world! THE DAY OF EVIL! It’s coming! He is coming! Choose now this very day whom you will serve!!!! As for me and my house? We will serve the LORD and Source of all spirits aka GOD (Adonai Elohim / Lord God) The Lord God of Israel better know as YAHWEH which translated into English is “I AM”. HE is GOD literally He is the One who made all things and all spirits came out from Him. His Son is the Logos the Word aka JESUS CHRIST / YESHUA MESSIAH (The Lamb of GOD)! And they are the SAME! He spoke all things into existence! Choose HIM! First privately and then publicly! You must do so! Time is of the essence! The Lord will bring HELL itself into our physical world! Because they reject Him and therefore reject LIFE and LOVE itself! Because HE is all good things! They reject all GOOD THINGS! Therefore they will find nothing but death and HELL and torture! They reject Life and they will taste death and find no rest forever and ever and the smoke of their torment will spiral up forever. Those who reject life will find death inevitably. They reject love and mercy and they will NEVER FIND EITHER! Choose Jordan Peterson! There is no middle ground! There never has been! It was just an amorphous lie! I am begging you and pleading with you without shame! Please come now and choose a side! Or you will have no Foundation to stand on. These truths you speak?! They are from GOD! And He has exalted you and lifted you up beyond reproach in many cases. You are probably the Greatest Public Logician of our time. You will always be remembered no matter what that is true but do not make the mistake to remain neutral! Because no one can do that and live. If you remain neutral with GOD? Then He will remain neutral with you. And nothing will last. For GOD shows to men exactly what they show to Him in the end! Choose! And may GOD bless you exceedingly abundantly beyond all you see or imagine! Live forever my friend. You cannot earn immortality. Not with any amount of responsibility. GOD has GIVEN us immortality as a GIFT, not because we deserve it! For we deserve to be destroyed truth be told! That is Grace! The ability to overcome this entire world through HIM! Blessed be the Name of the Lord God of Israel “I AM” who showed me a foolish boy Mercy when I deserved to be destroyed! He has never failed me. I used to curse His Name and I used to be HIS enemy and I blamed all my pain on The ONE who wanted to heal it! I was a FOOL! GOD had mercy on me. Now I plead with you. Choose this day whom you will serve! The Merciful ONE “I AM” or the devil whom every single “free” mason and witch has already chosen (yet they can turn back but if they do then they must renounce that temple of darkness before it’s too late.) The devil is the lord of the flies / Baal Zevuv they called him centuries ago. He was a murderer and Merciless from the beginning! He will not save a single human soul! He will torture and dismantle and destroy them all! Even though he has promised them a high kingdom! He has lied to them! And they loved lies more than the TRUTH. And now the Truth will be their Eternal Judge Forever! The devil wants pain to all men! PAIN and evil and cancer and doom upon all human kind. Whether they have exalted him as lord or not! He does not care! He is the destroyer! The destroyer of all human souls! He who kills through whispers! He is the Master of Lies and webs of deceit and conspiracies of all kinds! This is Lucifer! That is who he literally is! He is not The Light! But he is of darkness and death and hell and he brings disease for a gift and violence in place of peace. And instead of food he brings poison and this is his doing. Turn back people! Choose GOD and choose LIFE and choose LOVE or you reject them inevitably by default. Time is running out. All this world has waxed old like a garment and the heavens will roll up and away like a scroll made of paper 📜. And the True Heaven will be laid bear. And ALL human people will SEE HIM who sits on the Throne! And His Face will SHINE so brightly that many will die because of the Power! And it will not matter if they are underground or underwater! For HE is EXTRA DIMENSIONAL and He sees into all closed and barred and deep areas without even having to try. Every single thing and every thought is laid bear to HIM! He will show Himself! And HE is a Consuming Fire 🔥 and more TERRIBLE than anyone can possibly imagine! He has His Nature in the WHIRLWIND and in the HURRICANE 🌀. He gives Life to all men. He strengthens people to get out of bed in the morning. He has appointed our heartbeats and by Him we live and move and have our being. Don’t you see? Why doesn’t anyone see??? Why are subtle distinctions lost on all people? Why haven’t obvious inevitabilities become apparent to them? Don’t you know DOOM when your hope is stricken with Despair for no reason? But why not see that our evil faithless ways of trying to push it through alone are indeed utterly and completely HOPELESS?! Because without GOD we are truly doomed! GOD told everyone everything openly! The Truth was never hidden but always in plain sight! Because HE wanted even the poorest and the lowest and the most wretched and afflicted to find immortality in His amazing MERCY! That is why! That is the difference! Our GOD is merciful! The devil is not. GOD looks at the heart. And the human heart is evil and desperately wicked so much so that King Solomon called it “the plague of our hearts”. GOD looks at the hearts because He wants to see what that person means and if they are telling the truth! A person may give to the poor but if that persons heart is not joyful and in full agreement within them? If their heart murmurs against their deed? Then it is a lying act. And therefore GOD will not reward them for it. And it is a lie and as if they did not do it. When we are speaking of good deeds and righteousness this is absolutely the case. So. It is a lie to not mean something completely. How much exaggeration is a lie? The slightest exaggeration is a full blown active and accursed lie! Truly.

yea because these days if men do men things its sexist. Its only okay for woman to do men things and men to do woman things. Like if a young girl wants to cook because she takes pride in cooking for her family, oh thats sexist shame the parents but if a young boy wants to do that , oh its so cute.

He had me until he began about how women have a different set of responsibilities than men. Uh, no! Women also earn for their families and fathers also babysit their children.

No its worshipping and following God that gives life meaning. Jordan you're a very smart man but you should have figured out what the true religion is. If you truly try to find the truth, it will always lead you to Islam. Look at the miracles of the Qur'an, authentic prophecies of the prophet Muhammad that have come true, thinking logically etc.. Act before its too late.

Islam is a false and Jesus Christ is the truth the way and life and no one come to the father (the creator)but through him . Repent and believe in the lord Jesus Christ and stop believing a hopeless faith

@@Jamestown5667 In fact Islam is the truth. When you look at the Bible its all too obvious that it is corrupted, and that the idea of Jesus being God is flawed with the Bible itself proving that he was not God but a mere messenger, which is all a further proof of islam

Simp Jordan please separate your women are more agreeable fantasy into separate videos. You have wonderful videos but you completely destroy them and make them UNSHAREABLE by pushing the fantasy that women are more agreeable than men

It's not fantasy... It's a biological fact that women are nurturers by default. They're the ones who give birth to babies and they breastfeed them until they're old enough to eat on their own. In order to be a good nurturer, you need to be agreeable.
