I"m sorry man. As someone at 37 now dealing with a heart condition (from Covid, one of the very unlucky ones) its some scary shit. Please keep your health in check, and don't take that little blood pumper for granted. I'm still at a place where I have a good chance to save mine through an ablation... but many cannot... and that turns into heart failure... and from there... well, yeah. You only get one. Use it, but treat it well. RIP.

“The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” Ecclesiastes 9:11 King James Bible. So sobering to realise how fragile precious human life is. Much comfort can be got from other passages of scripture. Psalm 23 is powerful, as you say. Heartfelt condolences! It’s a terrible shock for you. Thank you for expressing your feelings and sharing your personal experience.

Gregory, just tuned in from Cave Springs Arkansas to do one of your KB follow along when I saw your announcement of your sensei, Steve Cotter's passing. Your message of him, It hit me like my own Aikido sensei Karl Geis's passing. He & Aikido had a powerful impact upon me for 15 years. LebeStark has also had an impact on how I learn from you both and approach KB. I sense your loss and thank you for sharing. Stay strong.

I’m so sorry to hear about Steve. The way he applied kettlebells to martial arts is a major influence on my own training. And I can only imagine how much more keenly his loss is felt by those like you, whom he trained personally. My condolences.

Gregory, I am so sorry to hear about your father and I will keep your family in my prayers. I lost my father several years ago, so I know how hard that is. I’m shocked to hear about Steve and I’m so sorry you have lost your friend and mentor. As you said, I also pray he is in heaven. I’m a Christian as well and believe God always reaches out to us and wants us with him. St. Faustina, a Polish nun, wrote the greatest mercies are offered in the final hour, so there is always hope that someone found Christ before death. Rest in peace, Steve.

I knew Steve a bit as well, we used to correspond about fitness and politics. He was a super cool dude who was extremely gifted both as an athlete and as a teacher. Dude went into the BJJ field, became a champion, and became one of the best S&C coaches for the sport in about a year. Dude was legend in kung fu, kettlebells, and coaching. R.I.P.

I never met the legend but the way his athletes always spoke of him with such reverence as a caring & genuine man says it all, b/c that is rare. I've had a couple coaches like that and "How would coach handle this?" is a strategy that's helped me navigate life's challenges more than any other. Peace to you and all of Steve's athletes and family who've been lucky enough to experience his mentorship. -Ryan

Steve was the one who made sense to me in his approach to kettlebells and his communication style. You all know what I mean. I always wanted to pay him back in person for the pirated video I got years and years ago, when I started dabbling in kettlebells. When the plandemic hit, I really started to work on my kettlebell training and skills from home and my dream was to certify for level 1. It took me a long time to be able to complete the requirements for the fitness test, but I did. So sad to see him gone now. It was way too soon. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

Gregory, you always stressed out how transformative it was to meet Steve. I never met him but I have to say his message was so positive, so wise, that I instantly could tell how much of an awersome personal trainer and human Steve was. I can only imagine how sad it has to be for those truly touched by him, and his family to lose him. He will be remembered

You are a brave and a strong person for having the courage and heart to be able to share your feelings and experiences on here while going through such a terrible time of loss. Steve will live on through what he taught you and with what you share with your online and in person students. I appreciate your physical strength because it allows you to teach us near and far with a good physical example, but I have much more respect for you as a man after now seeing how strong you are by you not being afraid to share your personal stories and ones related to Steve while with us your emotions. We see your intense and happy emotions coupled with your passion during the good times...while we train, or you film etc. but we see how real you are when you share the same type of passion during a not so good time as this obviously is. We need more people like you who care enough to make others better unselfishly and who take a bad experience and use it to make something or someone better. Thank you and Thank Steve for what you have done for me personally with my training, because it has made me better as a person in many ways too. God Bless you and his family during this sad time. Deepest condolences.

Hi Gregory.

In the end, it is not the years in your life that count..it is the life in your years that matter. Steve Cotter, gone to early maximized his 55 years on the third rock from the sun. One of the great accomplishments of the internet/social media era is a person can still make an impact provided your loved ones keep your content up...while Steven Cotter has left us, his invaluable content can always be accessed so in a way he is transcending death. My the great memories you and Angie have of Steve comfort you in your time of loss.
