Born in 1980, My childhood was jam-packed with the greatest music a young country boy could've ever hoped-for. During late middle school, there was Shenandoah, Diamond Rio, Lorrie Morgan, Clay Walker, Ricky Van Shelton, Doug Stone, Clint Black, Garth Brooks, The Kentucky Headhunters, Alabama, Vince Gill, The Judds, Tim and Faith; * before they got hitched, Oh, Sawyer Brown, "The Race is On", Little Texas, "What Might Have Been"- I can't list them (all), but the talent was absolutely STACKED back then.

Dave Loggins may have been most responsible for the sound of the late 80s, 90s and the first decade of the 2000s of country music. So many copies of his style, and his co-writing on so many classics set the standard for this type of sound derived directly from the country rock scene of the 70s. Bro Country and now Bro Rap have basically killed this music, sadly that tends to be the way it goes with the passing of time.
