Fantastic vid Mark, glued to it from start to finish. Perfectly spoken, well edited & full of great tips and tricks to encourage folks to tackle similar projects. Really nice looking TT that obviously fell into the right hands to live for another 40 years! I've always used headlight restoration polish for dustcovers but I'm convinced I need to give Novus products a shot! Looks amazing finished &, Hocus Pocus! Thanks for the shout-out, glad you got to embrace your inner tinker'er. Well done! - Lj

Mark, Just to let you know I have been sending a few people here and there to your channel whenever I hear that someone is talking about turntables and such. There are a few VC members like Ottavio, Kris, Lj, Mark {Dr D} and a few others who have that special knack of repairing audio equiptment but I feel as though you are the TT master. Great info on cleaning the rim of the platter as well as the motor spindle so the belt does not slip. I like how the speeds are broken down by height. 1/2 Rob

Nicely done. I will be picking up a PS-33 tomorrow, but with no lid unfortunately. I have the Novus and have polished and refurbished lots of turntable already. Hopefully I don't have to perform any Hocus Pocus on it.

There is a good reason to have a smoked dust cover. It will protect the record from warping. I have one with a clean cover and the sun came in through window and was on the turn table. It warped the record that was on it. The previous turn table never had that happen. The difference was the previous TT had a tinted cover which blocked and adsorbed the sun which protected the record from getting hot. Clean is just for humans to ooh and ahh over, tinted actually protects.

Hey, thanks for watching and good luck with your restoration. By chance, would you have the manual that you could e-mail to me in a PDF? I have PDF manuals for all my turntables but this one.

2/2 This video will be great to use as a reference guide if any of us are having a problem or two with our tables. I think it is simple enough to do ourselves. The hardest part at times is putting it all back together. {smile} I noticed that you were using the Novus steps 2 and 3 for scratches. Does anyone use D4 anymore. Wow, what a sweet looking job it did on your dust cover. I am buying some of that. The Denon DL110 moving coil I will keep in mind for my new TT. Way to go Mark~ Rob/Boston

Hi Mark I just acquired one of these turntables not near as nice condition as yours. Mine is missing the counter weight (the small one on the right side at the bottom) any chance if you still have turntable you could send me a picture?

beninski, where do you buy the polish and protective polish products?
@andrewsecord543011 жыл бұрын
No, not yet anyway. As you said yourself it is an obscure one and I don't see anything at the usual sources

I've found this turntable used for 175€ which seems to be in good state. Is that a fair price? I've never had a turntable, but it's something I've always wanted to get into.

Nice video - BUT - if you are looking to restore basically ANY mechanical equipment - DO NOT use WD40 as lubricant. It was not designed for this purpose and after short time of working may cause damage to any bearing. Make your research. There is special version of WD40 made for lubrication but regular one is really only for cleaning purposes. As mentioned later in video - good oil is required to provide minimal friction for long time
