God bless you sir and amazing video once again. I do have a question, is paint made during WW2 any different than modern paint? Paint now has alot of synthetic materials in it now. Do you know the ingredients of typical paint used for the war? Thank you
@History-Secrets11 ай бұрын
Thank you!! Paint back in the day was different, but there are companies producing paint that is really close to the original! The paint I use in this video contains Aluminium Oxide for texture, just as they did back in WW2!

Very nice restoration,my grandfather August Lindemann was a German soldier during WW1,,he came to South Africa after the war.I was a conscript in the South African Defence Force (1976-1977) and also a Angolan war veteran.I like your reenactment and trench videos,it’s such a pity that your MG 42 got damaged.In South Africa they do reenactments of the Boeren Oorlog (1899- 1902)during that period we were at war with Britain.Keep making videos,it’s much appreciated.

Hi. Depending on how the helmet looked like before you restored it, I think it was used by Czechoslovakian civil defense or firefighters. After the war they, there was a lot of german helmets left here. So they repainted them black and often replaced the liner, chinstrap and splitpins. The splitpins were a little bigger than original ones and on your helmet you can see the mark on the paint they left after they were removed. Very nice restoration!
