Part of the machine is dramatically "rusted," but not the tailstock. I've never seen cast iron beds rust like this. The forced disassembly of the gear box gave me the creeps: Big hammer and chisel 🤢 Where is the support for the lathe steel? Missing automatic feed of the support. Open v-belts a severe health hazard. To ensure precision all gliding rails must be properly rehoned. If in doubt about my words, I worked with such lathes.

I disagree on "great restoration. parts were not stripped of paint and repainted. Ball bearing were not replace and were put back with a hammer hitting on the wrong ring (outer or inner). Restoration on the "cheap"

I would have thought that the very first step in any "restoration" is to clean the thing. Why would you start dismantling when it's covered in that crap? Anyway, cleaning and painting is not restoration.

No gaskets anywhere, no oil in the site glass, never cleaned the gear boxes, no auto feed, you couldn't turn a thread with that thing. Pretty much a piece of junk. But I will commend you on your bravery to dismantle it and put it back together..At least you'll never have to worry about anyone ever stealing it, but who'd ever want to.

Особенно понравилась покраска направляющих суппорта, и смазка всего что можно солидолом, ну а про такие вещи как выставление передней бабки точнее отсутствие последнего я вообще молчу, и прикольно было как в конце поставили то что от станка осталось на брус, и тип такой радостный думает ща как начну сотки ловить😂🤣🤣

Congratulations. You did a great job. That lathe is a monstrosity of a machine from the looks of it...and quite noisy. The color you gave it (that green) still makes it look "old" on the lathe. I would have liked a more "modern" color... to rejuvenate it a bit.

real nice job of NOT cleaning and de-greasing I noticed upon assembly there was NO gear oil added, just light grease on the gears and spindle shafts, with no gaskets replaced. those of you that think this clown did a good job ,have as much to learn as this unskilled armature. great video of what not to do. as a certified millwright i DO know what i am doing after 50 yrs experience.

Tearing something apart and half-cleaning and putting it back together is hardly a restoration. No oil in sumps, painted the ways, painting chuck spindle and chuck is a joke, no cross slide or compound slide, and no power feed makes the lathe worthless.
