Exercises with an extended elbow are much more difficult for me, especially behind the back. I think the problem is in synergistic patterns. In combination with other movements, the biceps and pectoralis are over-activated and pull the forearm forward and up. It certainly enters the daily routine. Thanks for the pdf and the timestamps are very helpful.Nice week.

@@rehabhqofficial definitely and after years I was able to do it on my own so thrived. Kept my arm behind my back for about 20 minutes and will be doing these daily going forward.

@@rehabhqofficial did it and now I will be doing this every day to keep this range. First time I’ve done this by myself since my stroke. I was so happy. We appreciate you Dr.Tara!

During the rest my arm stay externally rotated position with elbow extend. Should i do focus on those excercises that internally rotate the arm?? Please make a video related to excercises to improve the shoulder internal rotation.

I had stroke 8 years ago, is physiotherapy still beneficial for me?
Hi, in the first year I was still in the mode on lifting weights will cure my stroke…noooo! Now 2 years post stroke I do lots of stretching and isolation movements. My arm and hand function is not bad….but still I feel synergies when lifting straight arm or lifting with thumb up…straight over head the arm really want to bend ….I work hard to let it straight with all my power of the triceps but it’s not normal movement pattern. When I walk the arm /shoulder don’t curl the arm up but the arm don’t swing free and loosen up. Especially when I have to walk up a hill the arm hits my hip….3 times on every step. I hope you know what I mean. I thought of strapping a light weight so it would help with that problem…. But I imagine that it would probably hurt my shoulder.but walking most of the time with letting the arm in my pocket will never fix my problem….so I need your help…

Hi Dr T, The very end of the video got chopped off. Not a big issue but just letting you know. Cheers PS: it's also useful for scratching your butt and pulling out wedgies.

oh no! You are the first person to point this out. Not sure what happened, but that was the last exercises at the. I think it just cut off the outro.
