AMEN, brother! Twenty years ago when I had my '64 Sports Coupe, the aftermarket parts were virtually non existent. Mine had duel exhaust with glass packs. It sounded awesome, too. Good luck, man!

Some Tom Cochrane....Always a good thing. Thinking some ratcheting wrenches are a good addition for ya. Danger overhead!! Great video. Some real progress. Look forward to more. The mystery build looks interesting too. Have done a few footings over the years as well. Couple of real disasters due to lousy excavating. Be safe and stay well.

I wish… unfortunately not at the stage of earning a living off of KZbin🥲 Maybe one day! It cost more and takes up A LOT of my time (filming and editing), but I do it for you guys along with the hopes that the dream will eventually come true! I’m a welder by trade, but do a lot of different work for a living

I'm a huge fan of those older style tilting columns that give you the bus driver option. On long trips I get so much relief from crazy up tilts and resting my arms on the wheel going down the highway. Mixed up with full down tilt and steering with my arms in my lap. Bye-bye fatigue LOL.

Thanks for making this video. I am getting ready to install a borgeson on my 63 Fairlane and this is very helpful. Was there major modification needed to the 65 Comet steering wheel column on the shaft or did it fit right into the rag joint and was the correct length?

@@brianm4737 no problem! The 65 comet column from Ididit fit surprisingly well for not being made “specifically” for a 64 Fairlane. Asides from the interior firewall piece that I made to essentially shim the factory lower column mount further back (to clear the rag joint joint that slightly protruded past the firewall) nothing else was needed…Correction, a few washers to drop the column down just a smidge as it was grazing the instrument cluster were also needed. The two mated up perfectly in the rag joint. Always good practice to confirm both spline counts and measurements with the companies before ordering (although Borgeson does make a fair share of rag joints/ universal joints to adapt different spline shafts, also ididit does offer custom columns made to spec, I just didn’t have the time to wait for one with power tour quickly approaching)
