Me and my husband are currently restoring a white rs mk2 and have done more or less exactly the same as you. Finding your videos very interesting, as it’s still on the ramp in bits at the moment also finding some of the Ford parts have been discontinued! we have spent a fortune so far!

Dont forget this is high mileage (150K) so it will of seen a lot of water and salt under there. For £25K you would get something fairly low mileage so much less crap sprayed under the arches.

@@jimmyjt16 nope I’ve had ex taxis that are not minters but zero rust , you look at a ten plate old mondeo taxi yeah the suspensions shit and it’ll leak oil but the arches won’t be hanging or the sills etc ..Fact

Damn, those rear wheel wells are rotten like an old pear. I must get my liners out and check mine over winter whilst its off the road. Id love to meet the genius who first thought it a good idea to use sponge/felt material as wheel arch liners. Can you try and film the anti roll bar joints being removed and let me know how tight they are to get out. Cheers.

I have a similar age Frozen White Focus RS, only 50k but done a similar suspension rebuild to mine last year, had the hole rear subframe off, scary to see how rusty these can get, mine was showing slight surface rust on the chassis legs so treated that whilst I was there, feel your pain when it came to refitting the rear trailing arms there was a lot of cursing when I was building mine back up again! 😂

@EVILGT Exactly, incredible cars to drove but Fords standards are slipping, I have a year 2000 Mondeo ST200 with a similar 50k Mike's and was much cleaner underneath than my RS despite living in Scotland it's whole life, I would definitely urge any RS owners to remove their wheel arch liners and have a peek!
