Rebuilding the Enterprise-D bridge from scratch is the biggest love letter to us fans who grew up with TNG on TV and saw the demise of the E-D in the cinema, and the work she and her co-workers put in to bring it back to life, with some technological alterations of course, it was just beautiful, it still brings a tear to my eye just thinking about the reveal of the ship and seeing them all come home again, arriving on the bridge and everything powering up with the beautiful musical scores combining the Generations, TNG and TMP themes into one, I just wish we could get some more lightyears out of that carpet... :)

I can see why it's gotten old to be asked about the carpet, but I was 10 years old again, sitting in my living room on Saturday evening when they entered the bridge of the Enterprise. My childhood was rough and Star Trek was my safe space. Seeing that bridge again was so emotional.

All of the efforts they went to in keeping the reveal a secret were worth it to me. I didn't see it coming. I wasn't searching for it, I didn't know it was a thing, Google didn't know to spoil it on their news feed. I did avoid Trek culture for a bit because I was enjoying the show. But I was stunned when they revealed the D. I paused the episode, stood up in shock and wonder, asking myself if they were really about to show the 'old' enterprise D again. That was a memorable TV moment and I thank them for it.

I avoided internet spoilers like the PLAGUE before the Picard finale, when Geordi said "surprise" I was expecting the Enterprise-E to be in that hangar...and my jaw DROPPED when the lights shined on the D. I've seen every episode and every movie save the original series episodes, what, 30 years now? That was the single best moment of it all for me. From set design to music to acting, it was flawless.

The Okudas did a local event last year on zoom (right around when the Picard finale dropped). They mentioned that the Dedication Plaque was the only original set piece they had. The audience had a giant nerdgasm.

I'm imagining Frakes being like Jack Quaid/Boimler level of enthusiasm shouting "Riker!" as he leaps onto/over the set! 😀

I think it is a very good resto mod. In Star Trek Generations most of the bridge systems were destroyed. Geordi did a very good job of building his dream Enterprise. Thanks for the awesome presentation.

Apparently those bridge modules were swappable. And since the bridge in Generations was different from the TV show it may be a different module. They probably saved the original.

@@FirstDan2000 I was thinking about the destruction as shown from inside the stng universe. So for the bridge module's being different the one before the time period of generations the were probably put in an energy reclimation unit.

Still wondering, what happened to the bridge after shooting was wrapped? Have they become smart and stored it for future use?

At first I thought they were bringing back Star Trek voyager! My favorite show, the delta quadrant still has more exploration to be seen and with all the voyager’s technology left behind. History has been tampered with, and the borg has survived, who will the new female captain be?

The studio saved it all for future use. They could easily reproduce the parts and sell D Bridge Kits to super nerds. That'd be a money maker.

They've done a great job overall, but the carpet is not the best example, I'm afraid. Comparing detailed pictures from the 1990's Captains Chair CD with this new set, the size of the mesh of the redish carpet is perhaps the most notable of the [very few] differences. Great job anyway!

Why do some people say "like" like, every 10 words, right? It's a very notceable affectation. I appreciate the body of work to be sure, but, like, why? TNG is the GOAT.

I hope you guys don't end up destroying those sets and sell them to the people that wants them. Maybe can be used later so you don't end up spending more money to make another one down the road.
