Just had an interesting experience with Restring Zero. I took all my racquets to be restrung and wanted the 2024 Speed Pro strung with a full bed of Sync. There was a breakdown in communication and I ended up with a full bed of Zero 1.25 in an 19-20 stringbed. I let it go and decided to give it a try. I played two hours of hard hitting singles and, after feeling a tad detached for the first 20 minutes or so, the string came to live. I couldn't believe how much spin I was getting. There was also a lot of pocketing. It was also the most powerful string setup I've had in the Speed Pro, but the level of control was more than enough rein it in. I ended up hitting harder than I've ever hit in my life with complete confidence. Surprising crisp and controlled on volleys as well. Played again with the same person a few days later on the same court. The pocketing was gone, along with the control and the power, touch and control. I had a look at the strings and the mains were quite deeply grooved, to the point that there was a distinct click if you pushed a cross up and let it go as it snapped back into the groove. I've now got about 12 hours of play on the Xero and it's lost all its playability. Any thoughts? It was strung at 48lbs mains and crosses. I'd have thought this kind of wear would be reduced in a dense string bed.

I think you should be happy with 12 hours of playability. I think that’s long enough to make it worth the price.

I just tried it ps97 v14 at 24-23kg. I have a large flattish stroke with very high racket head speed. And I have to say I quite liked it. I normally play with hyper g soft and I was having a hard time keeping my balls in. With restring way more of my shots stay in so I completely agree with your description of it gives more control with powerful strokes. And it seems to have way more playability duration. At least double even triple as long as hyper g soft. It is more crisp and feels stiffer. I am getting to like stiffer polys more and more so I enjoyed it.

Thanks for the superb review. I really liked this format, very detailed and thorough. I agree with your points in my experiences with this string, I wish they had a thinner gauge as I’m not a super strong power player but am always looking for spin friendly strings. My current set-up is with Solinco Confidential 1.15 in my Ezone 100. The Restring Zero I find makes the racquet heavy, and i have to string lower like your recommendation which gives me a really nice heavy shot, but I have to swing full out to get the pocketing and spin otherwise I lack control and the ball flies. Confidential in renowned for it’s predictability, but I find Zero is great for full swings, but I struggle with touch and in between shots. Looking forward to hearing your recommendation for hybrid set-up.

So far I don’t have any problems with it. I don’t even think it’s a stiff string, but I never strung Zero over 50 lbs. Some of my clients who complain about stiffness are those who go above something like 52 lbs. As I said in the video, you can immediately notice that Zero really does not stretch when pull tension, unlike other polys, so I’m not surprised if it will be stiff when you go high tension.

Great review! Really useful having all that detail, especially on types of racquet the string works best with. I have a dilemma: I have a 2024 Head Speed Pro, which I love. Yes. Cut the entire Zero out. It’s a total joke! Wasabi is interesting and will give it a try sometimes but the ultimate shaped poly that is easy on the arms is the Volkl V-Square in 17 gauge. Give it a try and come back and tell me I was wrong… it is the slickest strings out there with the lowest string-to-string friction and very high string to ball friction. The highest top spin potential according to TW. The only downside is that, it will not last long. However, if you are a competitive player, you will cut these out after 2 hours.
