Hi Coach, How are you doing? I'm going to test your Vertical Jump workouts and I already have the PDF. In 3 or 6 months I will comment again. Did I really increase my vertical jump with your exercises yes or no. Let's put it to the test I will follow step by step. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷🗑️🏀🙌

Hi Nathan I was planning on training my jump in the summer and wanted to show you the exercise I have listed Jump ropes 3 set 5 min Squats 3 set 6 reps Deadlift 3 set 6 reps Box squats 3 sets 6 reps One leg squats 3 sets 6 reps These are the exercises I was planning on doing 3 time a week for three month. I’m just show you this because I wanted your opinion on what I should ditch and keep or what to add to this workout. You are a huge inspiration because I never thought I would dunk a basketball ( I’m 5”6 btw) but since I’ve been watching your videos you have inspired me to try plz read this and thx you for your fun videos
@NathanaelMorton3 жыл бұрын
Glad that I could play a part in inspiring you to move towards your goals! Your workout is okay but squats, box squats, and one leg squats are all essentially working the same thing. I would ditch the box squats, alternate regular squats and one leg squats each time you do your workout, and add a hamstring exercise like Nordic Curls, One Leg Romanian Deadlifts, or even just a hamstring curl at your gym. I would also add more plyometrics at the beginning after jump rope but before squats. One or two would be fine. I would recommend Shock Pause Jumps or Ski Jumps. I would also superset your Squats with Dumbbell Squat Jumps using very light dumbbells (5 or 10lbs). So it would look like this: Warm Up Jump Rope Shock pause Jumps kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoKqqX2nerihqsU Ski Jumps kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYqyaK2VZtd0mc0 Squats superset with Dumbbell Squat Jumps (or One Leg Squats superset with Dumbbell Squat Jumps)(Remember to alternate these days - one Monday, one Wednesday, etc) Deadlifts Hamstring Exercise This would be your best bet. Good luck! Also you may get tired doing this 3x per week. If you ever feel sore/tired I would skip the Wednesday session that week and do Monday and Friday only. Cheers!

Noti Squad! Hyped to see this cause i recently started adding more plyos like this back to my routine cause i got rid of my shin splints! also how should i do plyos in season? should i do half sets or just cut them out or should i focus on the plants that i do not do as much in game?
@NathanaelMorton3 жыл бұрын
Glad your shin splints are gone! So whichever plyos you do, definitely progress very slowly - that is important so the shin splints do not come back. I would focus mainly on your weaker approaches (as you already are using your best approaches all the time in practices and games). This will balance everything out. Also, a few plyos can be good. Depth Jumps, Squat Jumps with light dumbbells, Ski Jumps, Broad Jumps. These are plyos you don't really replicate in practice and would be fine to add. Definitely do them at low volume. 3-4 sets of 5 reps is a great set and rep scheme.
@schurch_123 жыл бұрын
@@NathanaelMorton for sure. I can’t even temper the last time they bugged me tho. They used to be annoying after like 10 jumps at basketball training and now I can go jumping and playing my style and they don’t come back. Still doing rib raises and all that stuff to help. But thank you as always!

Bro should we go in this order every leg day, 2 plyos, any type of squat, hamstrings, hamstrings, calf’s, abs? Is there anything you’d switch or is that good?
@NathanaelMorton3 жыл бұрын
Yes that's the order that I would go in. I may categorize it as "posterior chain" instead of just hamstrings. So including the glutes and lower back with exercises like Kettlebell Swings, Hip Thrusts, etc etc. So the order would be plyos, Squats, posterior chain, calves (and tibialis anterior), and then core.

I only have like maybe a 26 inch vertical right now but I believe I can increase it a lot with methods like you’re teaching in this video.
