Vietnamese cuisine paradise, and everything is cheap. The country and people of Vietnam are very friendly. pleasant temperate climate. Wish those who come to Vietnam to travel are also happy, happy and have many beautiful memories about the country and people of Vietnam. If you haven't come to Vietnam yet, please arrange a time and come to the country and people here once. Surely you will be satisfied and feel great when coming to Vietnam to experience memories. You can choose Vietnam as your 2nd hometown, which is too great. Vietnam loves all skin colors, all ethnic groups in the world. Vietnam loves peace

Right Now, America is the worst choice as a place to live and now doubly so with the Covid-19 attack from China. There's so many societies that work well and where one can experience and enjoy life - eat so much better and more healthy natural foods, too. It's a sorry thing to see fake news and politics of division by mentally sick leadership in the USA and the way they are raising children it looks very dim for the future, too.

Yes, I visit Mexico and love the society, but Vietnam or the Philippines are all places where society works well and are welcoming. America has sunk to a lower and lower level and people are all wrapped up in themselves and kids are like in prison so the USA continues to sink culturally. When we go abroad, we feel like we are going back in time to a better place in time.

from my experience, and I've been in n out of Vietnam for the last 4yrs.. you only get in shit with immigration if you overstay your tourist visa, you can get a business visa and run your own business in VN, if that business is based outside of Vietnam, if you want to live and work in Vietnam then the company has to apply for a work permit for you, or you can open your own business in VN then you can get a TRC (temporary Residence Card)... the rules do keep changing slightly so just keep an eye out, if you living there its your responsibility to know the rules and the beauty of the place I find is people actually take some self responsibility and a certain amount of respect for each other as well as a massive national pride. I cant wait to move back to SGN once all this covid stuff is over... I love SE Asia in general.. cant wait to get back! happy travels everyone!

Da Lat has a wonderful climate. It is around 25C all year around. Fantastic vegetables. The best food I've had in many years. Very cheap! Prices double or even treble during TET; which is Jan 25 to about Feb 9 in 2020. I'm not sure about health issues in Vietnam. Vietnam has excellent French Bread! Yummy! Golf fees @ Da Lat GC are $108 USD for 18 holes i/c Caddy.
@cdnsk12
@cdnsk12 5 жыл бұрын
@Chris Lee Yes. Golf is not cheap in Vietnam or Cambodia. They don't have municpal courses. Mostly are High End courses for tourists. in 2009 - 2011, I golfed 3 days per week in Pattaya Thailand, for around $50 USD for 18 holes i/c Caddy & return ride to the courses. In 2015 that increased to $100 USD. The prices had doubled. That's the same walkup price as my home course (no caddy), which is in better shape than most Thai Golf Courses. Probably higher prices during high season Dec-March in S/E Asia. Hotel prices also double in high season.

@Chris Lee I spent 3-4 months per year in Thailand 2009-2011. Had a good time. I went back again in 2015 after chemo treatment for prostate cancer. I can't stand the constant heat & humidity. The Hotel, Golf & food costs had all near doubled.So it isn't such a good deal anymore. Even the food didn't taste very good, unless you spent $20-$30 for a meal. I can get cheaper & better food in Canada.

Yes Duncan, there’s a big divide in the use of car and bike horns. It’s basically incessant in Vietnam but in Thailand it’s a last resort. However, I disagree with JC with regards to it being cheaper than Thailand, as the rental market is less in Thailand, and that is everyone’s biggest expense.
@EscapetoThailand
@EscapetoThailand 5 жыл бұрын
@spizz at what point did I say it's cheaper than Thailand? Maybe go back and listen to the video again. I said some things are cheaper and somethings are more expensive. The things we noted in the video are less expensive though. You get what you pay for sometimes. So even though in Vietnam sometimes you pay a little more usually the quality that comes along with it justifies the extra expense.

@@EscapetoThailand I was in Vietnam for about a week, only in Hanoi. That gives me a very limited view but its still something. Hanoi was much cheaper than Phuket(for example), specially the taxis. Some places in Thailand, like Phuket, immediately after you leave the airport, people see you as a walking ATM. That is not the case in Vietnam. Also, there is less debauchery and hookers floating around. Vietnam reminds me of China 20 years ago. There are pros and cons to every place, my overall experience was good.

Interesting comments about the horns in Vietnam and loud bikes In Thailand. When I first moved from HCMC to Chiang Mai I was so happy that the people were not constantly beeping their horns. However just within the last few months there are increasing numbers of very very loud motorbikes. To the point where it drowns out everything in my apartment on the 4th floor when they drive by. It's insane, I thought they were illegal. Anyway, I plan on moving around starting in January to get out of the smoke in Chiang Mai. Looking at various places and Dalat is one of them. Julie think a minute about what you're saying. If there was such a place with such little requirements what do you think the ambience would be? Imagine the massive flood of foreigners into that area and what repercussions it would have on the society and the environment in which you live. Ins that actually what you want in your retirement? If so maybe just stay home in your home country and find a cheap place to live there.

JC, have you checked out the Philippines? On an SRRV visa,retirees can work, free mult visa entries, Import a car and much more. Check out the Abalang/ Finivest areas far enough while close enough to Manilla. So far still here,renting three brand furnished houses on 3 Rai of land 28,000THB monthly. Amazing Nature scenery nearby. Yes,I bought supplemental INS to my Tricare and started Direct deposits while wire transferring more than 65,000THB monthly and getting FTT codes per transactions until 2/4 pensions are direct deposited. Was the most unpleasant time at Immigration about one month on my O-A since 2015 that had no issues what so ever until recently...not cute or intelligent Thailand but I support efforts to get rid of threats to your civilization from abroad!!!

I have traveled extensively throughout the Philippines. And when it came time to jump into this project about showing where aging retirees could live, Philippines didn't even make the list! And that isn't because of the ease of living there long-term. And it wasn't because the people there don't speak some English. You've been around long enough to hear me continually say that the costs should be one of the lowest on the list of criteria when it comes to places to live as an aging retiree. The intangibles way much heavier and on the top of that list is some certainty and security. You can see many people, like yourself, they're losing their certainty when it comes to a long-term living condition in Thailand. For many of us all those issues are not issues at all. But for many they are and I understand that. That's why I tried to be a voice for those people in my video to immigration. So back to the Philippines. Poverty, just like in Cambodia, in the Philippines creates a very dangerous and insecure environment. There are many things about the Philippines there are just not up to par when they're compared to Thailand or Vietnam. Like I said, security was one of those as well as the amount of consciousness when it comes to cleanliness and social issues. And we won't even get into the cuisine! If you separate all those things and just look at the visa, the costs and the scenery then yes some people might find it a very good place to live as a retiree. Just I feel for aging retirees there's too many downsides to it and better upsides ought places. For me personally even if the reporting, financial and insurance requirements were an issue for me I would still rather choose Thailand over the Philippines. Again, many people love the Philippines and feel quite at home there and for them I'm happy they found a place that suits them. My goal is going to try and help people find the best place for themselves to live as a retiree and use my experience and knowledge to try and help in that goal.

Ashvoj, That's a dumb remark, goods, services and food prices in particular are based on the local average income, and has little if anything to do with expats staying in any foreign country or their buying power, it's purely based on the local populations ability to purchase said goods and keep the economy rolling along. Sure, district One high-rise apartments in HCMC are affected by foreigners ability and willingness to pay whatever the going rate might be but generally foreigners have no effect on a country's affordability or lack thereof.

So JC I need to ask. Why are you now pitching Vietnam? Are you looking to expand your channel and increase cash flow or are you worried Thailand will soon make it so difficult to live in as an ex-pat your channel will have no value as you will not honestly be able to recommend retirement to Thailand? Are you a Thai citizen? If so then the rules and regulations which are presently making Thailand so much more difficult to live in for ex-pats indeed do not affect you. I would love to retire to Thailand full time when this Covid thing levels off to be with my sister-in-laws' and back in my retirement home, but soon I may not be able to live there if requirements continue to become unreasonable. The Thai that I speak makes life for me much easier outside of major cities and I would not consider moving to Vietnam as I have too much invested in the culture and language. For others, this may or may not be a reasonable thing to consider. My recent tour through Vietnam by bicycle tells me very few people speak English outside of the three major cities of Saigon, Hanoi, or Da Nang. It was often very difficult to even get a bowl of noodles from a vendor the way I wanted them as I speak no Vietnamese and they had no English. Oh sorry, but your video totally bombed if you were trying to prove the level of English to be found in Vietnam. Yes the country has a lot to offer and its future is bright if the government doesn't screw it up, but therein lays the possible problem. It is still a communist country. Foreigners have very few legal rights and if the government turns against e-pats as many are claiming Thailand is now doing then Vietnam will lose its charm and foreigners may lose their homes and small businesses.

If you go to GasBuddy, you will see prices did touch nearly 3.65 in Seattle, and that is most likely the time the gentleman was there visiting. charts.gasbuddy.com/ch.gaschart?Country=USA&Crude=f&Period=18&Areas=Seattle%2C%2C&Unit=US%20%24%2FG At about 23:30 -- He said he got a Whopper with Cheese. www.menuwithprice.com/menu/burger-king/washington/seattle/14487/ So if he got the Whopper with Cheese Meal its $8.59+1.20 for large coke/fries upgrade is $9.80 total. www.tax-rates.org/washington/seattle_sales_tax Factor in 10% tax for Seattle, and its atleast $11. Maybe he left out something small, but $11 to $12.50 is not a big deal when considering the overall point. (Cost of living SE Asia vs USA) Take it easy there, I think you need a Thai Massage.

You are correct i am sure about the Business Visas in Vietnam . I would bet money on it the two lonesome losers will start stirring the pot once again for more drama and subs for their channels which have flat lined long ago. Logic has nothing to do with their rational to troll and harass your members and viewers. Da Lat looks like such cool place. Maybe give some info how to reach there from Bangkok and the flight costs.
