6:08 There is a workaround kn duckstation to just map it once and never again. When you're in the binding screen, you can tap again after mapping, and select "add new". This way, you can bind the psx port 1 to 2 controllers. So you map everything to the rp4pro buttons, and then you do it again but with "add new" and the wireless controler. Sounds bothersome, but once done, you can freely dock the rp4pro, play wireless, and dock it out, and use the rp4pro buttons, WITHOUT having to map everything everytime

I got my dock today as well and am baffled why the USB-C port is off-center of the RP4. One other item of interest that people may want to know is that the RP4 cannot be docked with Retroid’s official grip. I think if the device’s USB-C port was centered properly there may have been more play, but as it is you need to remove the grip each time.
@janX93 ай бұрын
Good points with the grip.
@Urangatanga3 ай бұрын
It is off center apparently because they are considering design of future products.

I was thinking about the grip and whether it would interfere with the dock (and the case). Guessing it won’t fit in the case as well haha.

I know they said they wanted the dock to be future compatible. So the USBC port might actually be centered on the Retroid Pocket 5 lol (the off center port always gets me when I notice it). Or it could be off centered towards the right. Idk lol. But I think for compatibility, centering the USBC port was the best choice on the dock, even if that makes the Retroid 4 look weird now

Biggest design flaw on the RP4Pro me personally is that the usb-c port isn't centered... no matter what dock it's on, it's going to look weird because it's not at the center, so the complaint that it looks bad comes from original design and not the dock... I bought the AYN Odin 2 first respectfully and I love the Odin 2 highly, but I like the RP4 more in on-the-go situations and when I am outside among the people. I also got the Odin 2 Superdock as well and it's a bit more pricey but I believe it has the qualities for a better stationary-gaming setup. All of the same ports as the Retroid dock exactly, with a rear cover to hide SSD installation. I could install ROMS on the SSD in the dock and save space on the device, or save files wherever and run the device as it's own thing for gaming, entertainment, productivity, etc.

So everyone knows, in Aether/NetherSX2 and possibly Duckstation, if you touch and hold down on the button you want to bind, it'll let you assign multiple controllers to one button. Also, the Skull & Co dock does indeed work with the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. I've been playing mine with my Xbox One controller and no noticeable lag. Been playing music games like Theatrythm to test and it works great. Only thing is the picture is slightly dark but who knows what that could be?

I got the Skull & Co dock, but will be returning it. The video out was very hit or miss with my Odin2. First time was fine, but the next time almost every 30 seconds the screen would go black for a second and then come back. Next time was fine, but now I can't get any video signal. The Odin just keeps buzzing, basically the USB-C just keeps connecting and disconnecting. Does the Retroid dock seem to work consistently with the RP4 Pro? Also, I read that if you start your 8bitdo controller by pressing B and Start, it's in android mode. I only tried Retroarch and Citra, but all of my buttons just worked. I didn't have to do any remapping. I was only using one controller, though.

1:13 I dont know if in the rest of the video you mention it or not, but i got a sn30 pro too. You can get rid of the input delay by using the 8bitdo usb wireless adapter. You connect it to a dock by usb (I dont have the official, but it should work), and then you pair the sn30 to the adapter. BUT, in order to work you have to set it up in a particular way. I dont remenber if it was dinput mode o xinput mode.

@Retroid You could have easily designed it so the USBc was able to _slide_ back and forth. For different device placement. Also, if you could dock it with the *Rubber Grips* on, that would have been nice. At this point, it needs a redesign or price drop for me to bother wasting my time with it as i may as well use any other generic dock instead.

Hey, if you're looking at N64 as your limit you can go for any of the Anbernic XX line with the H700 chipset, although the playability won't be 100%. Something like the RG40XX H would be nice. Or you could have some fun with the RG35XX SP. Also Retroid Pocket 2S is technically sub $100 but shipping is steep, although highly recommended and has flwless N64 gameplay.
