There's only one word that can describe this game: delightful. If I had this as a kid, I would not have been able to put it down. The claymation is adorable, the mechanics seem interesting, the music is cute as hell, I'm definitely getting this game when it releases.

wait what?? i LOVED that, I love tactical games but every tactical roguelike that I see doesn't scratch the itch, but there's something amazing right here.

Cristian gets really strong since shield doesn't go away on the next turn, he can keep stacking to be immortal, my first pick was the upgrade that gives shield multiplier x2

Everybody sing along : " He was once a little green slab of clay ..." Seriously tho not only does the game look interesting but I commend it for incorporating Reto's legendary ability to reroll a die to either the exact same number or worse possible outcome 😂.

As soon as I saw the tactical turn-based combat grid appear on screen I paused the video and downloaded the demo. This is absolutely my jam, can't wait for the full game to be releasedactical

Claymation being a retro animation style, is it a category of retromation??

We are indeed planning a switch release! We're not sure whether we'll be able to ship it at the same time as the PC version though.

This demo is wicked, it plays so well. Feels really polsihed already but they're targeting a late 2025 release so it'll be fantastic by then.

I really like it! Visually what you want your game to me. Feels like an improvement on Dicey Dungeons' basic framework. The combat system is well-designed, and the variety of upgrades and options available early on add to the excitement and help keep players engaged. I also appreciate that specific builds aren’t required (except for achievements), which keeps things flexible. However, the game can feel a bit overwhelming too soon. - One issue I noticed is the lack of challenge, outside of achievements and min/maxing (realistically, who would skip stages?). At no point did the characters feel at risk; you'd really have to play poorly to lose.. - Also, like many linear RPGs with an experience curve controlled by the designer (or overly controlled like Paper Mario N64), the game’s fairness can make it feel "safe" and "boring". Like a checklist more than an adventure. With minimal randomness that isn’t easily managed, I question whether this truly fits the roguelike genre (unless someone here is talking out of his a$$). If it’s aiming to be a roguelike, it could benefit from more genre elements to create a sense of unpredictability and risk. - I also agree about the menu navigation-Dicey Dungeons had a snappier feel, and this game doesn’t quite capture that fluidity. These games offer a smoother UI with all options available to place Dice in (and disable them as the turn goes). But again, the amount of actions one can have add to that overwhelming feeling.. even overwhelming the UI if done this way. What I see, I like. But it is lacking that depth that would make me want to play this more.. like you do with "Binding of Isaac", for example. Games like SpellRogue are well designed, but lack that spark to make them special.. you play them a couple of times, or finish them, and that's it! And those don't even have stories! This would benefit from something memorable.

@gilney.mathias in general, there are non roguelike indies still coming out. Celeste, Library of Ruina, Hollow Knight, Tunic, Sea of Stars, Disco elysium, Palworld, Outer Wilds, Katana zero, UFO 50, Pizza tower, Night in the woods, The return of obra Din, Blasphemous 1 and 2... And these are just the hits, if you were to go tad more obscure you would find as many as there are roguelikes who are tad more obscure than slay the spire, Binding of Isaac, hades and Balatro
