Sure, Michael Myers has made guest appearances in Call Of Duty, Fortnite and Dead By Daylight, but no, he hasn’t gotten his own game in over 40 years. Until now. BossTeamGames have partnered with WayForward, the studio who brought us the Shantae series, 2017’s underrated The Mummy: Demastered and more, to deliver RetroRealms: HALLOWEEN. As much as I love Halloween, I just can't justify spending $25 on a short little platformer that barely resembles the source material, outside of a few characters and locations. Aside from Michael Myers being basically unkillable in the films, the series kept things fairly grounded in reality. This almost looks like a different game that they shoehorned Michael Myers into.

In case anyone made the same mistake i did on the switch. Do not by the ash or halloween dlc seperate from the retrorealms arcade download. You must by the bundle for the games to work. For some messed up reason the arcade is not available separately.

@@616Entertainment Some of the blood splatters are very MK inspired! Funnily enough, I was watching your MK vids while working on the game haha. There are different gore types depending on the type/size of enemy you kill. It will randomly spawn body parts and different blood splats that fly off and hit the ground and background, creating more blood splats! It was very fun to help create such a satisfying "Kill"!

As a 50 year old, who watched the original HALLOWEEN and EVIL DEAD movies, and played the most Unforging games of the 80s/90s, such as Ghosts n'Goblins and the Castlevania franchise, these games totally delivered, definitely not for modern gamers though, Old Skool pixel art is definitely a niche or a loathe

I just read an article in IGN that it's Two games being developed by the team that brought us the ever so fun yet ever so frustrating Evil Dead Game Boss Team Games. John Carpenter the Horror Lord Himself is "intimately " involved . I'm excited as all get out and hope this leads to a Newer Thing game. One where 1 player out of 10 starts infected and has to infect the rest to his side and as the Thing you can change into horrific forms at any time depending on the level of your infection. Sorry I'm rambling. That's where I learned of the New Halloween games in development.

It's a retro inspired game based on a franchise, that's how those games always were, I should know I'm old enough to have grown up in the 8 and 16 bit era lol you always had the base theme for the game i.e the characters, weapons, level settings etc and they used creative license to add in a variety of enemies and make it a 'game', it's always been like that, besides in the context of what little story there is the different enemies do actually make sense, it's a really fun game, just try and enjoy it for what it is, how often do we get something like this lol

While I do appreciate doing something different than the very tired online multiplayer horror games, this isn't personally what I want out of a Halloween game. Though I do not get into platformers in general to be fair. Even so, I may give it a spin if a good deal comes down the line. I do like the aesthetic and the love of the franchise on display. My problem with the game originated from the Boss Game's handling. I ordered the collector's edition and they emailed me the day it was supposed to ship telling me that they hope to ship by the end of the month. Ok, that happens and they said they would give me a digital code for the games. Well, the codes didn't come. Then after the promised date for those, I get an email telling me that they are having trouble generating codes. I guess that's a lie because a reviewer got a code over a week ago, but someone that gave money is sitting it out

I was never a smoker, but grew up with plenty of underage smokers in the 90s and 00s. How about they make the game with two stories, the first story your doctor lumis and you have to do detective type work and doctor work trying to figure out the demon behind Michael eyes, trying to to find or locate Michael Myers as well as the victims so they can be reported, have he work in the sanitarium, place people from the movies into the game so it seems more realistic, he'll have his gun and his know how to hunt down Michael Myers before the town goes after Michael Myers on their own not saying that should be the goal but you can use that's for a open world haddenfield. Open houses, open store areas police stations and fire houses and of course ambulances as well moving traffic and NPC walking around enjoying Halloween. Now the second story should be about Michael Myers is escape and and staying stealthy and even walking in plain sight like he does in the movies where everyone doesn't seem to notice a physopath walking around them now for the Michael Myers half Michael or the shape should have targets just like the movie and again open world haddenfield so you can go into houses and stores gas stations etc but Michael has to have a point in why he's doing what he's doing so yea make it like a movie might take a couple years but accommodate your gamers with the feel of the movie and don't make the game full of quick scares and jump scares make sure the game is scary and has surprisingly scary effects so the gamer can't see it coming the AI needs to be on point so if you kill a target other houses can hear the screaming and if you don't do it quietly then they can warn the police and send them to your location where you have a limited time before the town hunts you down, now the town will stop you but you won't die you'll just get up after a quick recharge and get up like he does in the movie, but that's just me I could be wrong

Na. The game is dogshit in my opinion. Having to get every damn collectible in one life is bs. The lag on attacking and any movement is so horrible. The boss fights are not even trial and error. Especially that 2nd world. I beat that boss and put it down. Think I'll just count this as a 50 dollar loss. I don't even have the desire to try Ash now. And what's the point of a limited upgrade tree? If they are going to limit what and how much by world don't even have a tree and just give me the upgrades.
