I have returned! I bought TS2010 for my new computer and it was the worst experience I've ever had. Now, I'm back where I belong. Filmed in TRS2004, obviously. Music is Merchant Prince by Two Steps From Hell. Stay tuned, something big is in the works.

Great to see you back in action! I had a similar experience with TRS 09/10, quickly swapped back to old faithful (06) when the others lagged computer down.

Trainz 2010 was a nightmare for me back then, at first it worked well, but then came the glitches, it seems like the newer Trainz games have sort of a life span before they die of corruption.

I actually did get ProTrainz's SP AC4400CW to work fine in Trainz 12, so if you do need content repairs if you do switch to a later Trainz version, then i'm right here

sadly i only have 2006 and the worst part is that nothing i download with download helper works, or appears. even if i search the name of the train like "Thomas" it just shows up with nothing. Im really sad because i thought 2006 would be way better than 2012 or 2010. Your lucky, dajara.. :( I have to go through the sluggish and painful process of downloading it as FTP and even then it might not work.

You might be missing dependencies. I'm pretty sure TRS2006 comes with the first version of Content Manager. You can look up your downloads there and it will tell you what they are missing.

Yeah, I purchased TS10 in fall of 2012, and TS12 about 6 months ago. I can assure you, TS12 is 10X BETTER.

The only reason I got TS2010 and not TS12 was for 2010's compatibility mode, which 12 lacked. Unfortunately, the game had other issues, and that's why I went back to TRS2004.

dajara521 I bought TS12 from N3V, (digital download), and by the point that I bought it the installation already includes SP1/HF4. If that wasn't installed then I'd probably like it more. You should give it a try. (I gave $7.99 for my copy cause I had received some "anniversary" gift cards from N3V, and it was on sale at the time). :-D

Out of curiosity, what was the first thing you did once you got into the game? Did you get straight to filming, or did you take a couple of drives down in your old favorite locos first?

CABRALFAN27 Once I knew everything was running nicely on my new computer, I basically went right back into filming. There were only about two weeks between getting TRS2004 running on my new computer and Master Of Train being released.

I have no idea what a good price might be, I got TRS2004 as a gift back in 2005, so I can't really help there. As far as vanilla content, there might as well not be anything. This was back before JointedRail and other 3rd party creators, so 99% of the included content is Auran models.

On the DLS. It is TS2010 content, so if you want it to work in older versions like I've done it will take some backdating.

trainman7616 Sorry for the late reply. The other geared engines (not including Cass 5 and Ben's) are the COC oil Shay, a 2 truck Willamette, and a 3 truck Climax. I got the COC oil Shay from the DLS, but recent reports show that it has disappeared. The Willamette is on the DLS, and the Climax was a Zapperjet alpha that was never released.

how did you get the GN 4-6-2 to work in 2004

All you have to do is backdate all the trainzbuilds for the engine and its assets to 2.4. You'll also have to give it a replacement enginespec and enginesound, as 09+ steam specs and sounds will not work in 04.

Stephen Young The Climax at 1:19 was never released (but there's a similar one available at Trainz Forge) and the N&W mallet at 2:20 is payware at Paulz Trainz.

Lennox Purinton Train Simulator 2014 is already out. Its made by the same people that made Railworks. Trainz 2012 is made by N3V Games.
