Lol. I want to explain something: When you create a movie with reference to a video game you do NOT have to make it exactly the same as the video game. The character doesn't have to be IDENTICAL in every aspect, even wearing the same clothes. A clear example was the Tomb Raider movie (2001) in which Angelina Jolie did NOT wear the same clothes as Lara Croft from the video games, and that didn't make that one a bad movie. Have a little faith in the director. Some changes are for the good. Waiting to see the trailer and the film itself :D

That’s understandable, but it’s kind of a missed opportunity if it’s changed too much. Silent Hill 2 is one of those games that I believe can be turned into a whole movie with minimal changes to its script, and I find this important because many people won’t play the original or remake of Silent Hill 2 because they aren’t familiar with Video Games; to perfectly port a game like this into a movie makes it so more people can experience such an amazing story. But so far, from what I’ve seen of Laura and Angela’s design, they seem to be going back to an evil little girl controlling the “dark side” of Silent Hill (in which Alessa wasn’t entirely evil in the original game), which I find to be a huge letdown. As a reboot. I feel like they should do the faithful, horrifying, and thought-captivating approach with making the town manifest each character’s darkest thoughts and desires in the town (not to punish, of course, but to just manifest). It just seems really cliche to go and make it another evil person instead of multiple people experiencing multiple personal struggles like the original. BUT maybe I’m wrong on this, I’m basing a lot of this off of how weird I found Gans’ thought process when making the first film, and seeing Laura’s and Angela’s new designs are really putting me off. (just to make it clear I don’t care about small things like James’ hair color lol) I always end up absolutely writing literally mountains of text whenever I type so I’ll summarize: **Silent Hill 2’s town manifests the psyches of people with “darkness in their hearts.” This movie is a reboot and the recent leaks seem to suggest something off-track from the original (which I believe can be turned into a movie with minimal changes to the original script). And I’m worried about what I’ve seen from the movie (designs of characters portraying them as being there for a long ass time) so far.**

I usually hate it when movies change things from the source material, but I still really enjoyed the first movie as it totally got the atmosphere right. On the other hand, I‘d like to forget about the second movie as it was utter trash. I don‘t think that we needed another movie but if Christopher Gans is in charge, I hope for something good like he did with the first movie. I don‘t quite understand why James has dark hair though, as this would be very easy to change but that is just a minor thing. I‘m eager to see what comes out of it 🙂

The movie looks really cheap, like a shoetring fan film. At least the first film had a high enough budget (50M) to look cinematic. This and Revelations look like they're operating on less than half of that. And once again, Gans misunderstands the assignment and makes SH into some general purgatory filled with characters instead of the lonely personal Hell that it's supposed to be. Very little faith in this after watching the trailer, which it now seems like they're trying to hide.

Even if it follows 2001 Silent Hill story, 2-3 hours is barely enough to meet Maria or be anywhere near the end of the game, Konami, wake the f*ck up!
