Welcome home, glad to see your homestead vids are back, they are like the best pandemic antidote ever. One recommendation, if you want the best bed experience, is to get a woollen underlay. They are expensive but you will never look back. No need for electric blankets or hot water bottles, it's an immediate warmth transfer and it's so, so comfy, like sleeping on a sheep. You actually look forward to winter so you can put the woolrest back on the bed. :)

Little tip from a cold place in Australia. Mink blanket as a bottom sheet and another as a top sheet then the duvet, heaven.

I’ll also be moving to a small farm here in Basscoast Australia where there’s no rubbish pick up. I think we will be ok with it, however visitors that aren’t on the same sustainable journey as my family and bring their rubbish when visiting is causing me to be slightly anxious 😟

Idk what sort of access to big stores you have, but ikea has very affordable, sturdy curtain rods that extend to whatever size you need. and they come in a bunch of colours. at least in Aus! GIve it a go!

The homestead is looking so good team! Have you thought about upgrading the windows to double glazing for added warmth? Another big project but these kiwi homes can be so cold without these upgrades. Also, where did you get the arch mirror from? I've been looking everywhere!! Can't seem to find anything under $100 here so very keen to know 😊
