FANTASTIC episode! The kitchen conversation actually had me laughing out loud. It was called a kitchen because it WAS a kitchen 🤣🤣. Thank you all for visiting. I hope you all make an appearance again, because I loved your different insights. ❤️ Also, correct pronunciation for my name at the end, which is always good 🤣

And exaggerated as f. It doesn't take 10 hrs from the beach to SJ unless there's some sort of traffic accident or jam, and even that is quite unlikely. And the volcano? Yes, there was an ash eruption, but San José isn't that close to it as to have a white cloud of ashes when you open a door. It kind of travels and settles.

2:03:00 THANK YOU. I don't like to put my bank card into almost anything. And for gaming, I'd rather juggle with cash than spend on my card. Having those cards to get funds for the eShop has made me be able to buy such a lot of stuff. Nintendo should put a statue of yourself for that.

One of the best episodes of the podcast, it was great to see all your former colleagues/current friends. Not surprised to hear Krysta would tend to move quickly and end meetings abruptly considering she starts every podcast without saying hello but jumps straight to "TODAY!" 😂

11:10 Yes! Will never forget the Street Fighter 2 Tournament episode of NM when everyone had to introduce themselves and what they did and when it got to MTM all he said was "I'm Mike", it awkwardly cut to everyone laughing and that was it. Didn't hear or even know if he said his position but at that point you didn't even need to know, best part of the video. Monica's story is wild! While doing a Pokemon shoot she just happens to get hit with Poison(stomach bug), Lightning(the storm), Water(also the storm), Grass(falling trees) Flying(the wind) and even Fire/Earth?(lava)! Scarily like those incidents that happened during and after the filming they did for The Omen or Poltergeist

I had to look up the QVC video of the host breaking the TV. I'm not sure if there's more than one such incident, but the only one I could find at first glance is one where the male host breaks a TV because the Tennis racket accessory on his Wii Remote detached and flew off when he swung, while the remote itself remained in his hand with the wrist-strap worn on.

The only thing they did correct with Scott Pilgrim Takes off were the fight scenes and fleshing out some characters. They took away all of Scott's character development, Ramona's motivations were odd, the league's motivations changed...I don't know why they opted to go that route. There were some funny parts and as a stand alone product it was good but it changed too much of the original imo.
@AREAlhero10 ай бұрын
Nah. Scott Pilgrim Takes Off has even better character development for Scott than any of the original works. This whole take just screams "I am media illiterate"
@TriforceWisdom6410 ай бұрын
(Spoilers) I felt pretty much opposite. It doesn't work at all as a standalone because it's a direct sequel to the movie, but marketed as a remake. They apparently took notes from Final Fantasy 7 there. Old Scott and Ramona's relationship troubles are a pretty direct answer to people who read the original and were disappointed by Scott and Ramona riding into the sunset in the movie.
@AmRealityInc10 ай бұрын
@@TriforceWisdom64 ya I definitely know I'm in the minority with this opinion, to me it just doesn't make sense how old Scott messed up that much even after he gets the power of love, the power of self respect and befriends nega Scott. Also, the times we did see Scott were funny as heck, I wish he had more screen time, even if they had to keep him separate from the rest of the group for even longer... I dunno, I was disappointed with it as a sequel but can acknowledge the great parts as a stand alone... I wonder if they're gonna cobble together another season?
@shovelseance10 ай бұрын
You guys really need to fix your audio levels / mixing when doing these kinds of things. Krysta is always so much louder than everyone else and your guests are usually so quiet it's hard to even hear what they're saying. It makes for a very frustrating listening experience. I shouldn't hear the crackling of your mics because you're peaking so much lol.
@Hauxe10 ай бұрын
I thought I was being a grinch and the only one who felt this way, but I’m glad others are vocalizing this. I forced this listen through because I was very interested in the stories but man was that incredibly disorienting to have Krysta cackle through the middle of guests talking

Maybe it's just because I grew up with the DS, but I will love dual-screen gaming as long as I live. The Wii U might be my favorite console, period. That said, the gamepad is not a Switch, portability is key.

@peterdoeswhat10 ай бұрын
Awesome! Another non-native English speaker getting offended by something an American says because of the non-native speaker's own comprehension and listening skills misunderstanding American colloquial speech and then blaming Americans for being ignorant. SMH. The reference to the "middle of nowhere" is in reference to THE ROAD IN Coasta Rica (NOT Coasta Rica itself which Monica said was beautiful) on the return from the [21:59] "'Second day of the shoot [in which] we had to drive two hours to this remote beach'". 24:35 - MONICA- "We're going back to San Jose. It was a two hour drive to get back to our hotel." KRYSTA- "And it was like a wind-y road. It's not like an easy drive." MONICA- " Yeah, this [REFERRING TO THE ROAD] is Costa Rica['s] middle of nowhere, like ONE road, not a highway. It's like one road, nothing on the side, no store[s], it [THE ROAD] is a jungle." Also in reference to shooting in foreign countries, Monica says [29:45] "Part of it [SHOOTING IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES] is the beauty of the land outside of the United States" So tell me where exactly ANYONE is being an ignorant American. The thing you are referring to is nothing but respectful and Monica even admits the US doesn't have some of the natural beauty other places have. I suggest you brush up on colloquial informal English with listening and comprehension practice before going off in the comments.
@andreysegura25109 ай бұрын
@@peterdoeswhatexcept that's not what she said. Not 'costa rica's middle of nowhere road'. It's 'this is Costa Rica, middle of nowhere, jungle road'. Don't try to defend her. Most americans still believe Central America (and I'm not referring to central US here) is a jungle, that Costa Rica is an island and is the same as Puerto Rico. Even if you're not included in that majority, it doesn't make it less of an issue. And stop assuming I don't know colloquial english or whatever. It's not like I just learned english last week. I've been speaking the language for over 20 years and dealt with so many americans that I certainly know what I am talking about when I say many are ignorant. They know little about geography outside of the US, a different accent means people are from India, and I could go on.
