I just thought of a great alteration to this trick! I have a friend who doesn't answer (or check?) his text msg's. So I will text him a day or 2 or a week before - and at the reveal tell him how important it is to check messages and will ask him to check my messages now and read out loud in front of everyone my last message to him from last week ('cat')!

Spidey. Thank You for igniting in me the desire once again to do magic and mentalism. I had injured my hand and could not do the old moves. I was misdiagnosed with bi lateral carpal tunnel. It was Hyperthyriodism. To the point. I am feeling back to normal and your videos have definately inspired me to pick up a deck of cards and perform again. Bless you and THANK YOU. Michael

Something I do towards the end, when I need to force a card or paper from several that are face-down on a table, is I ask the spectator to divide the selection in half. So, if there are 8 bits of paper, I ask them to pick 4. If the paper I want them to pick is in those 4 they picked, I remove the 4 they didn't pick. If it *isn't* in the 4 they picked, I tell them to discard the ones they've selected. Either way, the one I want them to end up with is now only one of four left in play. Then I do the same thing, I tell them to pick 2 of the 4. I remove their selection if the special paper isn't in their selection, I keep their selection in play if it is one of the two. Then you're only left with the paper you want them to pick and one you don't want them to pick. You pretty much do the same thing then at the end. You point to the two remaining papers and say "Make one more choice". If they pick the extra one, just throw it away. If they pick the special paper, you say, "Are you sure?". Regardless of if they say yes or no, you're still just going to remove the one you don't want them to end up with. I like this method because I'm very bad at slight of hand and this works pretty well at the end of card tricks, for me.

This is why this field of entertainment is so fun...with this one trick, you have multiple avenues of making it work...it’s an art. There are literally countless ways that you could fashion a trick like this and have it work similarly. If you are dedicated to practicing and perfecting the movements...you can really impress a whole lot of people, especially children.

An easier way is to write "cat" on every piece of paper (while pretending to write down the heard animal) no matter what animal the friend says, then it will match without doing any other forces or palming. You would crumple each piece up yourself.
@SpideyHypnosis4 жыл бұрын
Ramon Hamm easier definitely doesn’t mean better. In this case the strength of leaving everything examinable is undeniably stronger. In fact the first thing laymen think is I wrote cat on all of them. Imagine their face when they realize they’re wrong 😉

hey there! Those are really two different questions. Most mentalism books teach actual hard, concrete principles (my favourite is Mind Myth and Magick.) The psychology I implement into my presentations comes from psychology, not mentalism, books.

You suggest it yourself, what I would do is in the beginning say to the spectator "now I'm gonna have you help me name some animals" or "now we're going to name some house pets" that way the spectator is already expecting you to name one or two of the pets. I hope that make sense. Basically you just say it if they don't and you write it down.

I like this effect, but I would really worry about losing track of the piece of paper. I can just imagine someone bumping the cat paper as they put another one aside and I would be like "Damn, which one is it?" Think anyone would notice if one of the papers was a different color, like red? ;)

To me the “frame principe” shows your background in psychology. I Never thought of or seen anything demonstrated that way. I could use this. A form of magicians choice is a great out. I would however have them pick up two or 4 if you plan on using magicians choice. It becomes obvious
