I have a 1m clone and we used genuine 1m repair panels for the inner and outer rear arches. This means all the splash guards and trim fits without mods. It’s not expensive and probably a lot less labour. Otherwise visually there’s probably not much difference.

Are you going to do full front and rear 1M suspension arms? Tie rods, control arms for the front and rear trailing arms, control arms, toe links, etc for the rear??? And front and rear wheel hub assembly so it is a true 1m, basically?

I would recommend you considering Nankang AR-1 tires. Looks aggressive and are among the community one of the best bang for the bucks (on a dry) track.

When you do side skirts or anything putting self tappers into the car is gonna make holes! You should do a one time riv nut which will give you a permanent threaded hole in your side skirts or wherever you wanna do it, and you will just use those over and over instead of just smoking holes into the car when you get a new set of side skirts, front lip etc! You just have to mark the new sideskirt extensions with the existing riv nut locations and then drill out the sideskirt extension themselves! Just my .2 cents

Hey man, nice job! I've got my own 135i to 1M clone project going however mine's a combination of bought and built. I bought some ones '11 1M clone (with 168k miles) that has the 1M bodywork done, including the same rear flares you have, and a lot of M3 parts like the steering rack, suspension bits, etc, but the motor was not even FBO. This car is replacing my '12 135i (with 57k miles) that was rear ended but was tuned and dyno'd at 511 rwhp. I'm in the process now of swapping the motor/trans and all go-faster bits into the clone. In you video you mentioned you were going to replace the clear lenses on your headlights, do you have a source for those? I have the '12+ headlights with the eyebrows which were the same as used on the real 1Ms and I want to use them on my clone but would like to replace the lenses as well. Any help would be appreciated.
