something ive practiced into my workflow is keep bus 3/4 empty until im ready to export is because resampling includes bus 3/4, and then your resampled signal with compression will be compressed again. thankfully the export pattern to sample functionality removes the need to resample, but when you're baking FX into a sample it's something to keep in mind.

I just use BUS mute by holding down the value wheel and pressing the BUS FX button. I have had to re-record samples a few times though when I've forgotten to mute it!

This is sick, I was using a similar setup but with compressor and eq / warm saturator in 3/4, but having those two compressors stacked with 1/2 free to play around with EQ (isolator) or mfx is actually better, so really appreciate the secret sauce there, thank you!

I have a weird observation regarding this setup (bus 3+4) in connection with resample or skip back mode and bassdrum samples. Try this: - Load Lofi Drums Vol 4: Kick-5.wav - Fixed Velocity (pitch down -6 to make my observation more apparent if you want) - Activate bus 3-4 with your settings and nothing on bus 1 or 2. - Hit the kick pad. Sounds great! But now resample it or just hit skip back to listen to what you just played. Does it still sound great or kind of flat and distorted? Record hitting the pad with the kick externally and compare it to what was resampled or recovered during skip back. Why does it sound so different? Am I missing something? Do you think this is working as intended? 🤔

Sounds like you might be resampling with BUS 3 & 4 applied, so once its resampled you're essentially doubling them up. I always mute BUS 3 & 4 when resampling as I only want that on my final mix. Hold the value wheel and Press BUS FX as a shortcut to mute/unmute. Thats all I can think of for that issue

@@spvidz That’s just it. I _want_ to resample with 3-4 applied and then after, I monitored without 3-4 turned on. Made sure of that and made several attempts. It confuses me that bus 3-4 sounds different dependent on whether I perform with it turned on or listening to a resample where it is baked in. I first noticed it when I resampled a whole performance and it sounded bad when I played it back (without bus 3-4 turned on) to perform with bus 1 and 2. So strange…

@@spvidz So I kind of solved this by turning the kick’s level way way down. So at about level 25, I compared a resampled kick (resampled with bus 3-4 turned on) to me hitting the pad and listening to it (while 3-4 is turned on). It now sounds about the same. So strange and surely not what I was excepting.

The main one I miss is SUB SONIC and I've mentioned about that in quite a few videos already. I hope they will add that back in. Page 3 looks very empty! It would be cool if they could do some kind of sample rate simulation or just include it completely if they can do that via software too

Hello sir, This is kind of embarrassing but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out a way to make the COMP + 303 combo sound good on my 3rd and 4th bus. I know it's a lot for me to ask but is there any chance you could point me in the right direction when it comes to adjusting the values/numbers within the compressors? Mine always ends up sounding too boomy or just simply unpleasant :( I really don't know what I'm doing wrong either...is there like a range of values you could recommend for me try out? Thanks and very much appreciative on the amount of work and time you spent helping fellow SP beat-makers out!

If its sounding too boomy you are probably adding too much compression, or you need to lower the volumes of the sounds that will become boomy when compressed, eg - kick and low end.
