Its quite popular in india and it is known as 'Gola' and it is even cheap. In india 1 bowl cost around $0.5-1. and that machine cost only $50 or something..

“Shaved ice” is all around the world. Its been for centuries. In south american countries is a very common summer dessert. In Perú we call it raspadilla. Cheap, refreshing and delicious.

So glad to see you making longer videos again! I fell in love with this channel with the longer videos because while still being compact and to the point they provide so much more love and time towards making drinks than shorts. And for me that's what making drinks was about, taking your time and put effort into creating something nice with a bit of detail to it. Thank you so much, hope to see more soon!

Shaved Ice is a staple in Hawaii. You can buy devices where you use an ice block formed in a bowl or a Cool Whip container. And even with the "impurities" it's still welcome comfort on a hot day.

So happy to see this is also a Japanese thing. This same contraption, same concept is super famous as a street food dessert in many parts of India. It's called Ice "gola". The syrups used are super Indian. Kala khatta, which is made from kokum (looks like tamarind), raw mango, rose, orange, pineapple.

In India 🇮🇳 its known as 'Ice Gola'(Ice sphere), and its usually served on a stick, like a popsicle. I've been having these since I gained consciousness. Just search "Indian street Ice Gola". Mostly the syrups used are fruit flavours, "Kala Khatta"(Kala= Black, khatta= sour, so probably Indian blackberry aka jamun, java plum or purple plum, some even contain sour grapes) being the unannomous favourite 😍. Please try the Indian way of making these, you would loveeee it😊😊😊 Its so crazy that "Kaala khata" is even a flavour in various condoms in India😂😂😂

Are the blades not movable on the manual hand crank machine? I have a different model, but after loosening the screw, the blade can be shifted up or down to adjust the shaving thickness. I also recommend freezing the water in a round quart container. It can be split in half and then the shaving will be much more satisfying than the cubes.

Rip to the babish tip! On a more serious note, if you want to fix that I'd suggest grinding the flat part of the k tip blade until the flat spot meets the edge to form a tip again. Either that or you can sharpen it out slowly but this will change the blade profile slightly and imo isn't worth doing. Best of luck!
