I would have to strongly disagree with you in your explanation of what it means to be alpha and omega, first and last. To limit it only to the work of salvation seems to be a work of the imagination, defining it based on your desire to avoid the obvious conclusion that Jesus is YHWH. In Isaiah 44:6 we see a more clear definition of what it means to be first and last: “This is what the Lord says, He who is the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of armies: ‘I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.” We see here that to be the first and the last is to be the only God. No god created him. No god came after him. He is the eternally existing, preeminent, only God. And so for Jesus to quote this in Revelation 1:17 is to claim that he is YHWH. This verse in revelation is not only a parallel to the words of God in Revelation 1:8, but also a parallel to the words of God in Isaiah 44:6. All three of these verses using the idea of first and last are to be understood as meaning the only God. Jesus is YHWH.

Revelation 1:8 was the Father talking. The word "Jesus" is not specifically there in Revelation 1:8. Even if He's referred to a verse before. But verses before say that the faithful and true witness is someone DISTINCT from the one "who is, was, and coming". There's a distinction in Revelation 4 between the Lamb who takes the scroll out of the hand of the One who "is, was, and coming". Revelation 1:8 is not clearly explicitly Jesus talking. Even though sloppy hyper-trinitarians have wrongly claimed that it is.

If Yeshua was Yehovah, then everyone who saw Him would have died, because no man can see the Father and live. Yeshua is the Son, Yehovah is the Father. There is a saying that goes like this, "Be nice to people, because you may be the only Jesus they see." This doesn't mean that when someone seeing you is actually seeing a reincarnation of the Messiah. They are seeing you acting like Him. We should strive to look like the Messiah, because He was the example set for us. In doing so, we will look like the Father, but people will also love after seeing our example.

Except that you missed this. The Hebrew for "The Lord Our Righteousness" is "Jehovah Tsidkenu" Jehovah is the name of God, not just God The Father. People get too caught up on trying to individualize the persons of the Godhead. God is One. It's just that He expresses/manifests Himself in 3 main ways. This is similar to how we have 5 fingers but they are all considered 1 hand " Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. Jesus is definitely YHWH. You can look at the meaning of the letters Yod Hey Vav Hey and you LITERALLY get "Hand Behold Nail Behold" who did Thomas call his God after behold nailprints in hands? Jesus Also the "im" in Hebrew is suffix to indicate Plurality. Yet "Elohim is 1" Jesus says He and the Father are "One" this means Jesus and The Father are BOTH "Elohim" which is a Singular being with a Pluralistic aspect. Also Jeremiah 23 is about the Messiah and YHWH is talking about how the Messiah's name will be "YHWH Our Righteousness"

@drw I don't think this verse actually says what you or the scribes with lying pens wanted it to say. Here is the verse from the Septuagint, as it was over 1000 years before the Masoretic texts were written. (Isaiah 9:6, LXX) "For a child is born to us, and a son is given to us, whose government is upon his shoulder: and his name is called the Messenger of great counsel: for I will bring peace upon the princes, and health to him." Beware of the lying pen of the scribes. (see Jeremiah 8:8)

@@johnlawson6851 I've looked into it pretty extensively, although I'd never heard Aleph Tav described as you did here. My concern is that if the trinity is indeed false, then billions of Christians are actively worshiping Messiah as an idol, which makes it a salvational issue. If it's true, however, non-trinitarians have nothing to fear, since the Bible and Messiah himself only ever instructed us in worship of the Father alone. I think the doctrine is a serious contender for being the "strong delusion", or at least one of its predominant symptoms. The path may be much narrower than we've ever considered. Always a pleasure.

I know it's hard for someone to challenge the Trinity especially when they lead a congregation, it's a huge cognitive dissonance for all of us coming out of Trinitarianism. So with all that said, I try and be real graceful with guys like Lex who are sincere and passionate, I know only Yah can bring us to the truth. I try and put my trust in Yah that this movement will become a movement just like Torah if Yah wills it. I don't want to speak on behalf of the Father.

I believe that Yeshua, is Elohim. Not just because of the Alef Tav, But because of the very meaning of the sacred Name, when it's transliterated into the ancient egyptian hieroglyphs that each hebrew letter was derived from, the Name then says "Behold the hand, behold the nails" How much more Yeshua could you get? It's about the sacrifice in the cross. This is also fortold in the word Bereshith, first word in the scriptures. Yeshua also stated, John 8:58: "Before Abraham was, I am". The sacred name means I AM. Elohim stated to Moses "Tell them I Am has sent you" it all points to Yeshua being Elohim, not just titles and the Alef Tav references, many references. My belief is that Yeshua told John he was the "alpha and omega" as he was referring to the alef Tav's through out the entire old testament scriptures. Yeshua is also the start and finish of God's covenant with mankind.

For example Genesis 19:24 24And Yahweh sent down on Sadom and upon Amora brimstone and fire from before Yahweh from Heaven. the text does not indicate 2 YHWH's but 2 distinct people who share the 1 name (not just title) of YHWH. Definitions aside, let's get into the historical evidence for the claim being made. As was claimed above: if we read the statement in Genesis 19:24 (which for some reason was posted in Hebrew as if that helped at all), and come away with there being 2 YHWH's, then we're actually being anachronistic by reading our "modern" English phraseology back into the Hebrew text. Not only is there no evidence that supports this claim, but the actual evidence sets itself squarely against this claim. As a matter of historical fact, some of the earliest interpretations we actually have of this passage affirms that the passage is indeed speaking of 2 distinct persons. To start off Jewish Targums (probably 8-10th century CE) state: And the Word of the Lord Himself had made to descend upon the people of Sedom and Amorah showers of favour, that they might work repentance from their wicked works . . . He [the Word] turned (then), and caused to descend upon them bitumen and fire from before the Lord from the heavens. (Targum Jerusalem, Genesis 19:24)

Another important point to make is that Zechariah 12:10 is quoted in John 19:37 after the Roman soldier thrust his spear into Christ’s side. John 19:37 reads: “and, as another scripture says, ‘They will look on the one they have pierced.” The King James Version translates John 19:37 as follows: “And again another scripture saith, ‘They shall look on him whom they pierced.’” The different versions may disagree on the Hebrew text of Zechariah 12:10, but none of them disagree on the translation of the way it is quoted in the New Testament. None of the versions have the word “me,” and most of them supply the word “him” as does the KJV, NASB and RSV. If the original reading of Zechariah 12:10 was “me, whom they have pierced,” we can think of no reason that it would not be quoted that way in the New Testament. On the other hand, if the reading of Zechariah 12:10 in the RSV and other versions is correct, then it makes perfect sense that the verse would be quoted in the New Testament the way it is.
