what I like to do is use a series of aggressive nail files to get the extra material off of parts. It was cheap (you can get them at the dollar store), and easy to find.
@PlasticModelBuilder3 жыл бұрын
Nail files would be good. Might have to get some.

Ok, I have this on order. Watching the video and seeing the quality of the parts, I plan on sending it right back. I will spend a bit more and get a better quality product. Have had good luck with Tamiya. Never built an Eduard. recommendations?
@PlasticModelBuilder3 жыл бұрын
I do not have any recommendations. I've only built Revell so far. Revell is a cheaper kit and requires work. I'm working on another right now in gears up formation.

Love your builds. Only part I don’t understand is why do you use that messy goopy type of glue? Why not use the ultra thin type of stuff instead? It’s what I use and see many other model makers use.
@PlasticModelBuilder4 жыл бұрын
I use it too. This glue has a great bond though!

Question? What kind of Putty did you use to fill the gaps in the model. I tried clay but that cracked to easily. Also great good on the model looks great Also I am a starter model maker and don't have a airbrush so what should I use instead and how should I use it.
@PlasticModelBuilder2 жыл бұрын
I used squadron green putty. There are different brands as well. You can try using a brush, or buy a can of spray paint. Follow the directions for which ever method you choose. Ive never brush painted an entire model before. Spray can paint will work but be cautious of fumes.

@@PlasticModelBuilder ok thanks a lot for the info and I will try the spray paint idea sounds effective

Why not temporarily attach the cowling for sanding purposes, and then remove it for easier painting of it and the prop? The first thing I look for when getting a new model is what doesn't have to be attached during the painting of the wings and fuselage. Also, I have to agree with the last poster. This model has some major issues. I think a lot of that is due to the extensive moving parts. Revell is ok, but I've pretty much switched to Eduard and Airfix.
@PlasticModelBuilder6 жыл бұрын
I like to paint the body all at once to have good color match and leave no seams. Makes it a bit more challenging. They should start making props a snap in style instead of having to affix everything at once.

You think there's enough room inside the fuselage to fit a (2)AA batteries? Need to cut an opening to the belly for changing the battery. Run wire to the mini motor for the propeller. AMAZON: EUDAX 6 set Rectangular Mini Electric 1.5-3V 24000RPM DC Motor.
@PlasticModelBuilder4 жыл бұрын
It would be very close. I've never done motors, but stacking the batteries in a housing is hard. AAA might be a better option. Don't quote me. Try asking on a modelling forum or facebook.
@rejolaro67674 жыл бұрын
@@PlasticModelBuilder Thanks for the quick response. I really hate doing this, but if it doesn't fit in the fuselage I will attach the aaa battery holder at the fuel tank area. Or maybe I can make the AAA battery look like a bomb. LOL.
@PlasticModelBuilder4 жыл бұрын
Triple aaa would fit if its only two. Double a it's very close and probably tight.

@@PlasticModelBuilder MOTOR fits by not using the included prop tube. I used a pen ink tube & inserted it to the 2mm thick motor spinning tip. Drilled the hole at the engine bigger & at the prop itself to accept the ink tube. Unfortunately I wont be able to use the model fuel tank. I will be improvicing & will be using a couple of pen caps as my single aaa battery chamber. This will be my new fuel tank. This is my current issue, looking another pen cap & wiring the on/off switch to the new fuel tank. Thanks
@PlasticModelBuilder4 жыл бұрын
Yeah. You could always try not using the battery housing. Take out the components and straight wire it to the battery itself.

this Is very bad kit kit, the fit is horrible the plastic is cheap and nasty, and worst of all, some parts were broken. this is my experience with this kit, you however made this a masterpiece!!!

"Masterpiece" may be just a slight bit of an exaggeration I think. This is one of those toy kits from the 1960s with all the non-scale moving parts - not for the serious hobbyist. Watching this with the messy tube glue and everything was like going back half a century in time.
@PlasticModelBuilder3 жыл бұрын
Tube glue is great! The bond is awesome. Any model is great for a serious hobbyist. Or at least one that can deal with a challenge. I can deal with any challenge!
