Chromate yellow? Is that a type of primer? It's new to me and why do you use it on the inside?

It was used on the inside of those planes during that era. Chromate Green or Yellow.

Its hard to resist..i consider the kits the orginals. They were great for they time no matter how bad the fit. It is why all that filler and putty existed. Today it is almost a crime if you have to use it. But the kits that don't need it are $$. Well worth it though.

Any recommendations for where to buy paint online? I checked Amazon but the selection isn’t great. I was looking for a selection of Tamiya paints for this model.

Can I use a model spray can for the zinc chromate and blue fuselage before i invest $100 or so bucks on a compressor?

You can do whatever you please. Its your model. I can say this, if you plan to pursue the hobby further, a good compressor and airbrush are the way to go.

Badger has a good compressor. You will need a regulator and filter. They make decent airbrushes too. Watch some videos on airbrush reviews.

I probably did in part 2. If not, it was brushed onto the seems to check for flaws.
