Great work once again Tom, this is looking great already and nice colours you chose too. The Plamoz parts look like they fit perfectly on the Mustang body. Seeing you fit that rear bumper so smoothly made me realize how great their products are. Thanks once again for a detailed video.

I would of never thought those 2 colors would compliment each other so well.i also would like to say,that your hobby shop you have is very impressive.im 53 yrs old and took to building scale models cars trucks semis to a new level back in the 80s that's 1980.with working light to reall driveshats that would turn the real rearend with parts from clocks and watches.back in the day telephone wire was a must have item.now a days it's called micro wire or 25 gauge.I even went as far as making some of my models smoke ,used parts from train sets I had a custom 1985 Chevy prostock chopped dropped tubbed with a custom front clip off a 1980 firebird k20 van.i added a smoke kit from a train around the rear quarters I used lead sinker weights to make it pop a wheelie and turned on the smoke to make it look like it was doing a wheelie burnout.I love your laid out shop,everything's in its proper spot mine was in mixed up boxes and a mess to find anything.Ill leave another comment on your spray booth as yours is quite interesting.cool video.

My other comment is about your spray booth.it is quite large.and the lighting is spot on the filters look like they are doing there job.Back in the day we didnt have many options of how to spray the models I use to use the box the model came in to spray with a can .i.know please dont pass out lol air brushing was around but not for my budget till I was like in my 20s.My area of work was a card table with a ripped top handed down from my aunt probably going to the trash lol.as I got older I got my own place.and then my shop for models grew up.my table became a roll top desk,my spraybooth became a well thought of computer monitor the old style like 1980, the real deap ones.i gutted it I also had a 3 CD changer from a stereo that I placed inside the monitor I made the platform from the CD changer with unburned cds to fill in the spots I also took a 9volt battery to make the table spin slow enough to allow full coverage at any angle the lighting was from mostly natural light like sunshine,I used the brackets from an old air conditioner window style and screwed them to the top of the monitor so I could put it in the window and not fill up my apt with fumes.2 cpu.fans working off 1 9v.and 3ms paint mask filters caught all the overspray.it also had a rubberized seal for the 1/4in thick plexi glass door for those over night cures.on the side of the plastic monitor housing I cut out with my dremel a 6x6in square and installed 1/8in thick aluminum plate for the hairdryer to give alil more warmth for some of the paints and clears back then. I still sprayed out of the can till I had enough to get a airbrush compressor which wasnt cheep and a quality airbrush.... but enough of me boring you with what I used to have.The last models I put together for my signoff was a 1/64ths scale Peterbuilt car hauler working lights smoking pipes flashers sound kit from a rc car even the beeping from the rear it looked amazing with 3,,,1/25th scale cool vehicles on the back.2 box builds and one custom build the box builds,70 chevelle and a 65 elcamino Chevrolet the custom 56 ford edsel slammed to the ground fat tires out back skinnies in the front all real aluminum wheels and accessories to pullies to valve covers distributer housing even the belts looked real all on top of a small d/c motor which ran into a what looked like a plastic transmission to a very complex set of gears,to just make the rear tires spin.It also had working lights with a rc sound kit .It won best in show .best and best in realism.You have a more complex and impressive channel I love how you get to interact with the world .something I never got to do until show day.YOU GOT A NEW SUBSCRIBER TODAY I watched most of your videos here in the past 3 weeks of cornteen.awsome work.

Awesome job. I have a question about the Zero Paint clear coat that I purchased but didn't try yet. The instructions say that it should be used in the next 15-20 minutes after being mixed. Did you have the time to apply all 3 coat with the same batch, or did you do a new mix for each coat? Also, approximately what quantity do you mix for each coat?

Looks good Tom. Zero's metallic flake in some of their paints can be a bit large. I think, if after spraying the orange and masking the stripes, you'd put down a coat or two of black before the gun metal, you'd have gotten better coverage with the gun metal.

Very nice works and I to like the color combination. Keep up the good work. I do have a general question regarding metal transfer decal. Would I put on the metal transfer decals at the same time the rest of the decals are out on before the clear coat? or would I put them on after the clear coat?

I really like the colours. I've seen a few other model builders on KZbin, but you're still my favourite. I like your presentation style, the music you use... Don't always like the subjects you build but hey it's not my model! I also like the way you say "hey I don't care what you think, it's my model I'm doing it this way", like when you cut brake discs to make the wheels fit! During the lockdown I was doing a model, mixed up some Zero 2k clear, but it was hardening in the airbrush and almost spraying in lumps. Nearly ruined the car I was doing. I think the hardener had gone off, even though it was from the same set as the other ingredients. So, because of the lockdown, Hiroboy had closed, and I needed some clear for my next build. So I'm trying out Gravity 2k. Which seems ok, but doesn't like going over Tamiya sprays. Anyway, top build as ever, sir.

looking awesome, what do you do about the "step" between colours where the stripes are? every time that i try to do pinstripes or racing stripes, i end up with a very visible step between colours, and no matter what i do with clear coats, its always very obvious
@TheScalemodelingChannel4 жыл бұрын
I add a coat extra to the stripe area , and then go over it again while doing the rest of the body. If still obvious after drying. Sand the “hump” out and smooth. Then re clear

Hey man, just starting out with air brushing scale models myself, do you sand your coats inbetween new coats? like when applying 3 color coats you sand them inbetween or only sand the 3rd coat?

Ik schuur geen enkele kleurlaag. Die krassen kun je namelijk soms nog zien na dat je er lak overheen spuit
@lucasdegraaf40724 жыл бұрын
