The Revell 59 Ford Skyliner kit was and is my favorite kit. I remember building this way back in the day. It is one of the most unusual kits I’ve ever worked on. The design is off the wall, but the details are amazing. I am excited to build this one again. This time it will be done right.

Guarantee there's a bunch of people would like to see you build it. The multipiece bodies intimidated many by itself, the retractable top did a bunch more. It takes some thought to work through all that and paint/detail everything. Thanks for sharing

Go for it. I remember kits where I had to glue the sides of the body. Mine never come out real good as I always managed to get glue finger prints on the car. So heck yes, go for it.

I think it was 75 or 76 when I made mine, and I remember very well (witch is a big deal to me) how much fun this kit was to make. I was so proud of myself that I was able to get everything to work. I am looking forward to getting into this one again.

Absolutely like to see a build video Mark. I just bought one supposed to be the 1959 release 1 year older then me. The box looks original 1959 from scalemate pics but ebay you never know. My older brother had a real one was so fascinated with it as a 10 year old. A little leary of the multi piece body. Cant wait to get it.

This nostalgia kit is great. Absolutely want to see you build this. I do wonder how you are going to apply your old man experience to build this. You are not 14 year old Mark anymore. Will you assemble those body side slabs and putty the joints ? You can build this nostalgia heritage, update to your modern build level or go all out. Can't wait to see what you do with this kit !

The kit is so cool, I hope you do build videos of it. I've seen one of those kits for sale at a show when I was just starting back into the hobby and was intimidated by the look of it and did not buy it. i would love to see you build this one now. The black cutting mat makes perfect background for showing the parts.

Great kit review! I would love to see you build it. Never realized that kit was a multi piece body. I'm pretty sure they are newer repops of that kit. Now I'll have to find one. Your kit is older thats probably why there's hardly any flash. I'm sure the newer kits have more flash as the molds age. Thanks for sharing.

I have the 1988 issue,by Revell 1959 Ford Galaxie Skips Fiesta Drive-in Series. Mine is molded in corral ,and no metal axles it came with supplement sheet, the axle studs were molded in for the rear end and front wheels. And yes I would like to see you build it

Hey Mark. I'd love to see a build video of this kit. It's so cool! They way the body is in so many parts... it's gonna be tough on camera unless some is done off camera and is glued and sanded to you normal perfection and you just tell us about how agonizing it was. LOL. Also the black mat is nice for the unboxing or building. It's your shop so it's your way. But thanks for asking. On another note: I was rewatching your "Making plug wires using solder" video. My question is doesn't the pressure of the clothespins deform the solder? Or do you leave enough slack to make up for it? That's it! An easy one for you! Thanks Mark

Richie, I will have to do a lot of this off camera and then just do my build videos. Although the body is in multiple parts I remember it goes together smooth and clean. As for the mat I was worried that it would wash out the details on the parts. When I cut the solder for the wires I always make them at least a half inch or so long. Then I only put enough into the clothespins to hold them. It does flatten them out, but I've used that part for linkage. LOL
