For those who are more electronically minded (or wish to become more electronically minded), the art of crafting a beat can be simultaneously enthralling and, at times, intimidating. Here, we're taking our MPC 2000XL and some synths to bring the house party with us wherever we need it to go.

There are definitely some tones that are off key in this jam. The last note of the bass line seems to clash with the chord progression.

It still sounds like the same loop played repeatedly with the same synth effects splashed on top. The same problem this music had twenty years ago.

It still sounds like 12 notes played repeatedly with some chord variations splashed on top. The same problem all music has had since the western scale was standardised.

^ Exactly, you get the point with each repitition. ^ This shit sucks. At least when you repeat a guitar riff, you get to express the note differently EACH TIME because fucking physics and you get varying tambres and dynamics. But this shit? At least Nine Inch Nails got it right by putting some distortion on this stuff and light bitcrushing on some bused tracks here and there (and often intense as a thick warm throaty gated fuzz) so as to give the electronics a reactive and dynamic tambre.
