My husband got a type 2 diagnosis - his doctor wanted to put him on meds immediately - I said no way, you are trying a plant based diet and in 4 weeks it was completely reversed. Plant based diets work. Thank you to all the work Chef AJ does and sharing the message. Thank you to Cyrus and Robby for their book, research and interviews.

I was 1 point away from prediabetes....probably crossed over based upon how i felt over the following 3 years...but finally lost 11 pounds....then started half way working on loosing weight...lost another 10lbs in 6 months...decided to get serious about it so put myself on a regular diet routine which was 95% plant based (didnt know it was called that at the time lol). Didnt know what i was doing and didnt do it all the way right but in 3 months i lost another 20lbs. Had issues lol...maybe too much fiber on my already inflammed gut so got tested. Nothing found but my A1C was normal and my LDL cholesterol was under 70! So good came out of it all. Kept off the weight for months and dont need to take naps all the time or half a day or two sleeping just to recover from a regular work week. Im gonna stick with Gods original diet plan! :)

Thank you AJ for doing a full week with Mastering Diabetes this week. There are so many living with Diabetes and they do not even know it. And then there are those who feel like diabetes just runs in their family so they just do not realize that genetics do not determine our destiny. That T2 can be reversed. And that this way of eating, as you know, is the healthiest thing we can do for ourselves at any age. I’m forever grateful to MD and for you for getting the word out there. Thank you. Thank you.

I think that would help. But I really think that too many of us "earned" our poor health through our diet, and many people really don't want to give up their fried foods, sweet drinks, etc. It takes a LOT of education to break through that mental resistance. Chef AJ and the guys at Mastering Diabetes do a wonderful service getting the word out over and over.

In my case i do follow whole food plant based diet. Eating window restricted to 7 hours ( 10 am to 5 pm ), fasting from 5 pm to 10 am. 6 days take 100 percent raw green juice, veg juice, fruits. On sunday i take rice, whole grains or pulses once a day. I started this on 1st Aug 2023. Results are amazing 1. Hba1c fell from 8 to 6.2 within a month, fasting sugar which used to be 160 plus came down to 110 within 8 days, weight came down from 79 kg to 72.4 kg, waist reduced from 36 inches to 33 inches within three months, wart and syst on back reduced from one onch hight to skin level, one syst in leg fully fanished, my hair color near wrist which was becoming grey started blackening again, energy levels very high, no tiredness at all. I never took any medication before Aug or even now. I am 67, 180 cm hight. Waist to hips ratio is just around 0.9, skin tone and colour has changed. But i do practice dr Norbert walkers advise on water enema daily.first three months i did three times morning and three times night. After three months doing once a day. I am from India. I also practice one hour yoga, 30 mints walking daily, pranayama and meditation

This helped me so much! I have been transitioning from SAD to WFPB for about 6 weeks. I used diet in the past to reverse hypothyroidism so I know diet is powerful. However, after a month of 95% starch solution type diet with no oil my blood glucose was 184 about an hour after a half n half plate of food! I freaked out! This video helped me understand that while I wasn’t diagnosed with pre diabetes I am insulin resistant and it’s going to take time.

Thanks Chef AJ for another informative RD episode! I so appreciate the work you do. Cyrus, you are amazing! I have a lot of experience in fitness from a previous life. I then became a critical care RN and am now the most unfit I have ever been. I appreciate that the info you teach is research based. I have recently joined your coaching program mostly for motivation. I would only ask that you put more research into the pitfalls and dangers of CrossFit. It is so unnecessary for a fit body and actually does great long-term damage. It should only be promoted for elite athletes, and may I add, I now believe, plant based elite athletes.

Dear Cyrus, I bought your book about the reversal of Diabetes. My husband has been diabetic for about ten years now but he has been very sick for about 5 years, that was when we noticed his situation because he lost a lot of weight all of a sudden (I must mention that all his family is diabetic and many have already died because of it). Now, his sugar is all over the place going up and down without any control. I tried to help him with this diet (I have been following your diet for about 2 years and feel great!) but he was very scared because in just a couple of days of trying his sugar dropped down so dramatically that we were about to take him to the hospital. He gets all shaky, cold and loses conscience...So he is very afraid to try again... What can I do? I know this is the way for healing but I am so worried first, that his sugar gets so low that could be dangerous, and second, that he loses more weight (he is already very thin and weak). I would appreciate your advice on how to proceed, this is very important for me because unless he goes back to normal soon, he will have very serious problems in a short time. Thank you for your help in advance..... Lucy

I heard less than 30 grams a day for recommended fat. However, Dr. Esselstyn recommends less than 10% fat, which is MUCH less than 30 grams a day. I'm confused.
@sherrijones3568
@sherrijones3568 2 жыл бұрын
Mastering Diabetes recommends between 15 - 30 grams of fat per day in the book. Percentages vary depending on how many calories per day that one is eating. 10% fat on 2,000 calories per day is 22 grams (2000 x 10% = 200 calories. 200 / 9 calories per Gram = 22 grams). Someone eating 3,000 calories per day could consume 33 grams per day based on Dr Esselstyn’s recommendation. 15, 22, 30, or 33 - all are low fat. Truly very little difference in the recommendation. Just go with the 10% if that is your comfort level. It’s all good.
