People have to understand that when you eat carbs from whole foods that were designed by nature you can’t go wrong. Nature doesn’t make mistakes people do.

What about when nature makes a cow, or human, with two heads, or a leg growing out it's back? Nature makes TONS of mistakes, for natural variation is the norm. Fortunately, nature, (long term called evolution) takes care of most by not letting them breed or letting die quickly. (Giving the illusion of no mistakes by cleaning up after itself.) Which PROVES your point, but clarifies it, somewhat.

I'm surprised he backed off of WFPB being a fits all diet. I guarantee that McDougal would say it, especially the starch heavy version, is the natural diet of human beings.

At 1:23, Chef AJ and Cyrus discuss fatty acids which some critics say they must be deficient in because they do not eat nuts, seeds, avocados, etc. Chef AJ stated that she's had her fatty acid profile 'done' and disclosed in a public video to find that her fatty acids profile is completely fine and sufficient. This caused me to remember that in reading Dr. Will Bulciewicz's book, Fiber Fueled, that when one consumes a sufficient amount of plant material aka fiber, the bacteria in the microbiome produce for us the fatty acids for us. This is the symbiotic relationship in action between us and our microbiome. A high fiber diet allows the microbiome to create the fatty acids we need.

Wow , of all the videos I've watched on Carnivore, Keto, High Carb, Fruitarian, Vegan, Vegetarian, etc etc.. No one has ever explained Insulin Resistance in such understanding detail like this,, Amazing, Thank you so much Cyrus, you are totally awesome. In nature, there is no high Fat with high Carbohydrates, Avocados and Olives are low in Sugar/carbs. Only humans combine Fat and Carbs/sugar together mostly unnaturally like in puddings/desserts, Burgers in Buns, Potatoes fried in oil etc. . makes so much sense. I can eat plain potatoes no issue, is I eat fried in fat I get bloating and acne.. doh!

Doctors suggested me to put stent for 90% blockage in RCA and 60-70% in LCX and LAD within a week for that I suffured severe angina. But after introducing 80% fruits and raw vegetables and leafy greens vegetables in my diet for three months my angina has reduced atleast 50-60% which is amazing. My blood sugar and blood pressure also reduced significantly. Hats off to all medical nutritionists 🙏 and should be introduced the nutrition as a major subject in medical school and all doctors must have knowledge of neutrition which is a sad state of affairs of medical syllabus.

Mylanta...... 29 years type one ( brittle diabetes) hit the nail On the head .... I eat low carb and don’t lose much weight but since insulin isn’t required for protein that’s why I turn to it..... recently started requiring more insulin and knew that wasn’t good at all ...... started exercising and it has helped but I love this a video million times. My eye dr turned me toward low glycemic index last week when we were discussing my diabetes and by way I have no signs of diabetes in my eyes❤️. But I have over used my insulin to keep my levels low ......

This three step explanation is the best I've heard. I excuse fats easily because of the increased pleasure in the beginning. This is such a great key step I have missed over and over!!! Just because it is a NON ANIMAL fat makes only a little difference. I have taken in the thought that, as an older person I need a little more fat and sugar.

c-Peptide levels can be increased a bit by exercise, whole food fiber, fasting and vitamin D intake. Avoid Niacin. I'm doing the MD program through the book and interviews, when I eat carbs my BG goes up, but it comes down much faster than if I was eating refined carbs and it's getting better slowly, so eat leass than 30grams of fat, exercise, only eat whole foods, fast and stick with it! It may take longer than you think it should, but IT WILL WORK! Remember how long it took you to get into the state you are in.

Thank you Cyrus and AJ. This video has clarified things for me. For twenty years, I was fat free vegetarian and never had problems with high cholesterol or high blood sugar. At that time, my blood panel labs, taken twice a year by my anti aging doctor, were always at healthy, optimal levels. High good cholesterol, low bad cholesterol, and optimal blood sugar. I went paleo about 5 years ago, and lost 30 pounds after my divorce. I only ate dairy, meat, and vegetables, no carbs. For the first 3 years, I maintained my weight at 130 lbs and thought it was great to be skinny. I'm post menopausal now and 5'8" tall. While paleo, I ate no processed foods, only organic fresh vegetables, olive oil, nuts, cheeses and meats, avocados, peanut butter. But there was one problem, one very big problem, ever since I went paleo, my blood labs have been terrible. My bad cholesterol is high and my fasting blood sugar is over 100 and my A1 C - all lab results say I have the beginning of heart disease and that I'm pre-diabetic. My weight is also back up at 160 pounds and a size 12. I gained all the weight back 5 years on the low carb paleo diet when I initially lost 30 pounds the first 3 years and maintained a size 4-6.and I'm not eating any different, and I'm actually exercising more. In addition to gaining all the weight back - my blood labs are unhealthy!!!! Not worth it!!! After watching this video last week, I have become vegetarian again. I'm going back to my old way of eating in the 80's and 90's, cutting out all fat and nuts, even my organic flax seed oil from Trader Joes and olive oil . From now on, i'm 100% fat free and will no longer eat avos, coconuts, any kind of nuts or p-nut butter, no more cheese or chicken, salmon or animal product of any kind. I'm happy eating all whole grains and fruits/vegetables, lots of baked potatoes, and beans. I ate like this all through my twenties and thirties and am happiest this way, not consuming animals. I will check back after I get my blood labs taken and tested for diabetes and cholesterol and A1c, which should be end of this summer. At this point, I care more about my health than anything else and I'm also happy being a size 12.. I gave up all fat, all meat, all sugar, but I'm not giving up salt or red wine. I also only buy organic and rarely eat at restaurants, I don't eat canned or processed foods of any kind.

don't forget to still include healthy fats (only 30g or less as Dr.Cyrus said) of flax/chia seed, avocado, natural nut butters, and/or walnuts bc it is necessary to get all essential fatty acids and omegas! also nutritional yeast flakes seasoning and seaweed for b12. A diet of very low fat(30g of fat or less), moderately high protein(1g per pound of bodyweight +7), and high carbs(literally unlimited amts of fruits, veg, root starches, grains) my favorite vegan proteins are tofu and beans 😋 also Hi omg never give up on the journey I live your story.

Cyrus this was one of greatest vedio’s I’ve seen. Just to let you know I was doing the keto low carb and high fat diet thing for 5 year’s.my wife and family kept me it wasn’t healthy for me. I didn’t listen until I got tired of my high blood pressure and seeing my lower belly fat. I started journey on my plant based this mouth.I lost more weight with more belly fat .my wife thinks I shouldn’t eat all plant based because I’m losing too much weight. What should I do or tell her? All I’m doing is watching you’re vedio’s and reading your books AJ.

Cyrus most likely will not see this comment. I think you have your answer...the proof is in how you feel and the positive results you're experiencing.

Now that explained a lot to me! Especially why while transitioning from regular (read: fatty) diet, I was sooooo sleepy after consuming rice, potatoes etc. I used to virtually lose consciousness after devouring a plate of rice and veg. Now it is normal, I feel great, and I wish I could share with you the photograph of my very thick and hearty minestrone, full of wonderful textures and aromas, of which I just cooked a huge pot to eat over several days!

@@LillyAnnHouston It's variation of recipies you can find on YT. Saute diced onion and celery stalks in a couple of tablespoons of olive oil, add tomatoes (both fresh diced and canned. Add water, and when it boils add a can of rinsed garbanzo beans and a can of any other beans, cook, add green leaves, I also added some orange lentils, ad some small pasta. And garlic, too. Spices to your liking. Be careful, all that together makes a huge pot and I had to freeze half of it.

Does high insulin make you sleepy? think I read that somewhere? I experience that after a big plateful of rice or potatoes, like a carb coma, totally useless for a few hours after...(i'm fine with fruit thought)

Rapid weight loss combined with lack of movement and exercise can lead to gallstone formation because of the rapid mobilisation of excess fat and cholesterol into the bloodstream. Excess cholesterol will then store in the gallbladder and form stones over time. Doctors often then advise people to have their gallbladders removed to avoid painful episodes of billiary colic etc. Weight loss along with sufficient exercise may help this painful condition developing.

65 years women, have been vegetarian for many years and the last 5 years my fasting glucose was between 95 - 110. I have done intermediate fasting for 16 hrs, exercise and relatively eating healthy. I was overweight about 40 lb. 3 months ago cut my carb brutally, fasting 20 hrs, exercising 1.5 hr per day after 2 months my glucose did not change or slightly getting worse (increased 5 to 10). Last month I become vegan, no oil, no carb no process food, exercise, fasting and my glucose getting worst, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 am is about 130 and this is not don phenomenon. Any advise greatly appreciated. Got to an endocrinologist, was useless. He told me go and do what you are doing and if you do not get better after six month you can start medication. After 2 months my A1C was 6, C peptide was 2.1. Lost 25 lb in 3 months.
