I followed Cyrus’ protocol after my lab for A1C came back at 5.7, which is in the pre-diabetic range. I am determined not get diabetes, so after doing WFPB for three months, it lowered my A1C to 5.5. I am ecstatic and loving this way of eating!! Thank you Cyrus and thank you to the Physicians Committee for making sure this information gets to those of us interested in good health!!

I reversed my pre-diabetes, high cholesterol, Rosacea, eliminated anxiety and depression, eliminated IBS, and eliminated swollen ankles. I also lost approximately 30 lbs. Cyrus, you and Robby are AWESOME!!! I am a former type 1 diabetic post kidney pancreas transplant. Insulin free since 2005 and vegan since 2005. It’s been 17 years. SOS free, work out like crazy up to 2 hours daily at 49 years of age. Very low BMI. You and Drs. Kempner, McDougal, and Rogers inspired going more on starch and fruit. I eat BID meals fasting fir 16-17 hours every day. My lunch is loaded with tons of various fruits and berries and second meal, dinner, is comprised of potatoes, rice, greens, legumes, and variety of other veggies. I feel soooooo much better having pounds of fruit every day. Definitely stopped intake of avocados abd very limited amt of nuts/seeds. Love you, guys! Thank you! And thank you Chuck! Thanks for the great video. I have a question about refined sugar. Refined sugar is pH neutral (neither acidic or alkaline) and my understanding of refined sugar is when consumed in moderation (eg. 10% or less of total calories from refined sugar) as part of a WFPB diet it is not a problem, but when you combine it with high amounts of fat that is when you have a problem. How detrimental is the effect of having refined sugar in a WFPB low-fat diet (0-15% of total calories from fat) versus in a moderate or higher fat WFPB diet (more than 15% of calories from fat)?

Exercise at least 30 min/day, at least 6 days week. At medium intensity ; ramp up of you’ve been sedentary, break it up in shorter sessions if you like- HIIT is good if you’re trained. 5. Professor Roy Taylor is arguably the leading diabetologist in the world. Unlike Neal Barnard, his research is clear that diabetes type 2 is caused by fat deposition in the liver and pancreas, not by IMCL. When this fat is reduced significantly within ~7 years of first T2D diagnosis, liver and pancreatic function can be restored to near normal, and T2D resolved. It doesn't matter how the fat is removed, but all methods that work involve hypocaloric intake such that abdominal fat is lost. Diabetes has been reversed equally after bariatric surgery, low far diets, and low carb diets. Once a person has had T2D for >7 years, pancreatic function is likely so compromised that insulin can never be produced in adequate volume to restore normal blood glucose control. If Neal Barnard was right about IMCL, then blood glucose could not be strongly brought to normal levels within 2 weeks of bariatric surgery, or on a low carb diet for any period. I am surprised Cyrus is unfamiliar with Taylor's discovery.

I believe it's not about whether it's plant based or animal based, it is more about how much processing was done to the food. Potato is good carbs, but potato chips can probably cause you diabetes in the long term. Also, I'm doubtful about attributing insulin resistance to fat rather than sugar. I suggest we look at the "Bitter Truth about Sugar"(kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnPRn5yrlptgpa8si=wHqv8F18nzW0pU0g) by Professor Robert Lustig.

A cow can be grass fed and grass finished but they still feed that same cow grains in between their grass feedings..

Depends where you get it from. I have a meat market that feeds grass fed grain finished.. there is a place 40min from me that's completely grass fed. That's where I used to buy meat from before going plant based.

Cyrus might also revise his view that high fat diet is the sole cause of T2D to allow that most healthy weight people on high fat diets do not get T2D. The critical factor is overeating, and depositing fat ectopically in the liver and pancreas. The main causative factor of T2D is overeating. It doesn't matter what the extra Calories are.

Notice his face closely. There are wrinkles appearing there. He is young. He may live enough n modest lifespan like most others on healthy diets no matter what meat or plants since he takes supplements too. But he is not going to live forever. And his face shows slight wrinkles. I have pretty much been vegan if not completely all my life n i have suffered deficiencies

He is a doctor that is unethical enough to stay biased to not promote more unbiased studies so people know the truth. He is simply singing his one sided view. That shows he is not an ethical scientist to me considering people heal on other diets, they even live long on other diets. These people have not done much controlled studies n they are deaf to experiences of those that doesn't match their agenda. Such people like all of us will be heavily tested over time

No way. High fat diets promote insulin resistance. It's not just about overeating. It's also about what NOT to eat.

How does promoting plant based eating, but continually quoting animal studies. Sure you had moby on this podcast. Repeat what he said, animal studies are outdated and barbaric and have No revelation to humans. Please pick your guests properly.

Have you seen his co writer Robby lately? He’s quite emaciated. Looks about 15 years older than his biological age. I know he’s more along a Fruitarion diet.

Go on Cyrus, tell people they can eat all the sugar and carbs they like and watch them get rid of their type 2. You tell them they can do that and I'll see you in jail.

You don't have to go running off to the store to buy vegan foods. When you can buy a good healthy steak to get rid of type 2 and you don't even have to go hungry. What's more, you will even lose weight.

This is a pile of rubbish. I have excellent Doctors and they'd be highly skeptical of many of the claims here. I thought this channel was legit but after typing this I'm blocking it. Very disappointed.
