I think the longer videos are brilliant Kev same with Greggs I think they’re brilliant. We have a local bakers in Falkland called Helen’s Bakery i think they’re also brilliant. Keep up with the longer content as I’m loving it Pal. 👍

Cheers Ross, glad the longer videos are going down well, Greggs are great and easy on the picket, out local Baker does better products but comes at a price 😁
@rossmcgarrie97873 ай бұрын
Yeah granted the local baker’s are pretty expensive but it really is good stuff Kev. But I don’t think we get pasty’s at Greggs in Glenrothes. But I’m getting the bus 🚍 to Glenrothes on Wednesday so I might ask if they do pasty’s. I know the pasty originates from Cornwall. But I’ll ask & see Pal.

I do prefer the longer real time videos of your exploits, it shows us how difficult it is either driving collecting cars, having to arrange/talk to customers plus, the somewhat problems in collecting cars in general. No heirs or graces Kev shows it how it is and thankful he gives his time and effort uploading his videos. Cheers kev 👍

It's heart breaking that so many people give up on cars so easily nowadays.
@stevekenilworth3 ай бұрын
it esp when fixes yes may be value of the car or half, but thing to remember is that fix may double life of the car if you fit good parts. ive just upgraded my car and had to sell my old car to local garage as main Hyundai dealer did not want it, they even refused to value it. private market seen one go for £2500 the same sort miles. mechanically it was a great car just the paint needed a little bit work car had only just had new clutch a thing build pressure on pedal that alone is £600, new disks and pads all around and only done less than 2k miles £240, new back box £120 3 new tyres and last 5 mot a clean pass, as i was in big hurry to get rid as my new car was ready for collection it really should gone for no less than £1100 as i worked out cost to bring it up to standard what make the garage still £500 profit and very little work and a lot used car garages make anything from £500-1000 profit and that was value of work worked in at what customer would pay they paint shop customer £160 panel so they could easy done it for £100 so far more than £500 profit in. even tho car was not worth a lot trade in i still spent more than i got for it so they had free car at 550£. but found my long term car so even when value drops to less than £1k i still spend £600 plus to get chain replaced because i know that chain go for another 100k plus miles so it value. it don't bother me spending on big cost wear item esp if it going to last a very long time before needing to do again. a lot people scrap car if it needs a clutch and it most value of the car, i wont i see it as another 60-100k miles so it a bargain, my newer car i plan to keep for a very long time so yes i have big cost items one day but im ready for that plan ahead no matter the value of the car. was hoping clutch last out on my old car till i got payment and found the right car but now the new owner when they sell it have a good car i just hope they researched the engine as chains can fail at around 100-120k miles but they do that job the car be good for another 13 years or 100k miles as long they keep on top rust. do not get it throwing good cars away esp if it been good to you and reliable and you serviced it often then it makes sense to fix it

@stevekenilworth From my point of view, I've always owned payday cars. Cars that you can buy with a single paypacket. Thanks to the scrappage scheme, and to companies like trents, no one wants to sell cars anymore. There is no cheap second hand car market anymore.

Very recently I was selling my Citroen Picasso diesel (06) 3 months mot not perfect but drives lovely. The amount of timewasters expecting much more was ridiculous asking Qs like, cam belt, service, brakes, etc I was only asking £400 now I just decided to keep it, drop the hassle, and when mot comes up either scrap it, or re new mot if not too expensive. It’s the publics expectations that are unrealistic especially on old cars. Ironically I just did a 300 mile run in it to the airport and back. Anyway I’d thought I will mention it. Cheers

That discussion you had about loving driving and getting paid for it was pretty much what I was saying to myself the other day. I was getting paid to drive a nice car up to Scotland on a beautiful sunny day. Why would you want to actually work for a living when you can do that? 😂
@michaelthomas36463 ай бұрын
I wouldn't work for free Kev, the state the driving test has seemed to become with the state of drivers behaviour on the roads, and also the cost of getting from Trents to Bridgend daily without living costs, not to mention the state of public transport lack of timetable during the wee small hours of the morning never mind during peak times!! and then you got to think about doing your driver CPC, and medical examination bills, all adds up fast especially the journey to/from Bridgend to Trents!!
@steveenglishonamotorbike51033 ай бұрын
Hi Kev. Good vid but I can tell you now mate. You will get sick of the driving. I’ve been driving class 1 now 43 years and can’t wait to retire. It was great at the start but now it’s just the same s**t different day. 😂😂

Just curious Kev, do you get some sort of dispensation, leaving the truck running, unattended, when you are collecting ? I see a few delivery vehicles doing this but, as far as I know, it voids any insurance cover if it gets stolen or, any items are taken from an unlocked vehicle ?
@KevTee3 ай бұрын
I take the remote fob with me and lock the truck when ever I'm out, saves any personal belongings going missing whilst loading.

Most of these vehicles seem to be in fairly decent condition for recycling. A lot of these cars don't even have 100k on them and don't seem to be very damaged, the U.K. must have a different culture than the U.S.. In the U.S., I feel that most of these cars would be repaired and driven another 100k.
