Maybe I'm weird for this but I've always preferred the Charger over the Challenger. Putting a 707hp engine in a 4 door car with plenty of space in the back with heated seats is an amazing option. I love it

That front end is so amazingly aggressive. I love it. I like the rear too. It's just the side that looks so old and bland that it's forgettable, like any average family sedan. I wish the side matched the front end
@TheDutchTexan6 жыл бұрын
Pretty much the same reactions I had reviewing a 2015. It is hard to argue the basic points this car makes: Under 70K, warranty, 707hp! The auto is on the ball and the straight line fun is practically unmatched.
@RandallJT846 жыл бұрын
I'd still prefer the CTS-V over a Hellcat. Call me crazy haha. Dodge's automatic transmission is what steals the show, obviously the power difference/roots blower whine as well.
@TheDutchTexan6 жыл бұрын
I have driven and reviewed the 2009 CTS-V but haven't had a go in the most current model. But I am quite sure I would love it. But, again the price... 20 grand buys a lot of gas and definitely some stickier tires. (ok, and a B woody intake, the hellcat I drove had that intake and man it brings that whine to the front!)

i'd rather get a 2013-14 gt500. about the same price or much cheaper, exact same 0-60 in a lighter car. (lighter than the challenger hc as well.) but thats my opinion. i know the challenger has more power but the 662hp and 631lb-ft gt500 is good enough for me considering they have the same top speed.

Thanks! I've always showed the legroom and headroom for the back seat in all my reviews. If the front seat seems to have limited headroom or legroom I mention it, but for most cars of a similar type, I've found the headroom to usually be pretty similar.

I love the Charger Hellcat. Dodge just said eff it and made a 707 hp daily driver. Why? Because send it!
@RandallJT846 жыл бұрын
Chevy's had that since 2009 in the Cadillac CTS-V.. Sure it's not as powerful (556 hp vs. 707) yet the Caddy does look tons better. The interior is garbage with Dodge. The Hellcat's transmission is what truly shines overall.
@vernonprice59866 жыл бұрын
Well the new CTS-V is 640 HP and is a match for the hellcat in a straight line, but completely destroys it around a track or any kind of turn. That's why the CTS-V will always be better than the hellcat, in addition to better build quality and higher quality materials - the CTS-V is a real performance sedan in the vein of the M5, while the hellcats are just straight line muscle cars that really don't handle well. I have a gen 2 CTS-V with about 700 HP, and I would drive that any day of the week over any hellcat. I've driven both, and the CTS-V - previous and current gen - are higher quality cars with better handling.
@vernonprice59866 жыл бұрын
+Irit8ed - "I think you guys are missing the point of the HC" So pointing out facts like how it doesn't handle well and how it has low quality materials is "missing the point"? How about this: We're not missing the point, we're actually describing some very real flaws with the car. "ts not about better. Better is up to the buyer to determine" If it's not about better, then that explains why you drive s Smart car. Right? "The HC does what it was designed for really well." It was designed to go in a straight line and nothing else. That's exactly what we have been saying. " I traded a CTS-vsport for my HC.. I understand there a massive difference in a v-sport and "V", but I wouldn't go back for anything," But now you're attempting to draw false equivalency between a 420 HP Vsport and a 640 HP CTS-V that does everything massively better than the Vsport. Yes the hellcat is faster than the vsport, which is why you wouldn't go back to the vsport. The CTS-V is an entirely different animal, and it's not any slower than the hellcat, and handles much MUCH better than the hellcat. So if you were to drive them both back to back, it's safe bet that you would not want to go back to the hellcat, because the hellcat provides an inferior driving experience. "CUE was and abortion compared to U-Connect, my heated seats actually heat in the Charger unlike my caddy, you couldn't even feel those things." CUE has gotten much better, but the issue with CUE was mostly that people were being idiots about it and pressing on the chrome guide bars and expecting them to do something. You can even see it in videeo reviews, these dumbasses keep pushing on the chrome guide bars, then complain that CUE doesn't work. And as far as heated seats, I'm not sure what you're talking about. Mine get so hot you have to turn them off, if you put them in the hottest setting. So you have to understand what we're talking about here. The hellcats are designed to go fast in a straight line... and that's it. People like me demand more out of a performance car than going fast in a straight line.
@jaikarchatha19676 жыл бұрын
Vernon Price true if money was no option then I'd get the cts-v but it is depending on options is $15,000-$20,000 dollars more but I don't think I could give up my charger Hellcat for the CTS-V at this current time
@vernonprice59866 жыл бұрын
+Jaikar Chatha - Sure, I understand that the CTS-V is more expensive. It's also a much better car. There is no comparison with build quality and interior quality. Dodge is making their muscle cars as cheaply as humanly possible, which is why you can get a hellcat for $65k - and it shows in the cheap materials they use. The CTS-V is an entirely different class of interior, everything is soft touch and solid. You're not paying the extra money for nothing. And then there's the platform, the chassis and the handling, which nobody can beat. You really are getting a lot more car for your money than you are with the hellcat. I also found the lower pricing on the hellcats attractive until I drove one. It's still great value for money, it's still very fast in a straight line, but man is it missing any kind of finesse, balance, precision, all the stuff that makes a great driver's car is missing. It's essentially just a big engine in a really cheap Challenger/Charger body.. And I'd rather go with something like an ATS-V for the same $65k, even though the ATS-V is less powerful - it's a vastly better driver's car. The only thing the hellcats really have going for them is power, and I mean... straight line speed is really, really easy these days. I think it's better to start on a great driving platform and then add more power if you want it.

I am a Ford man and I personally love what dodge has done with the demon and hellcat, y cuz MURRICA but if I had to choose ctsv or hellcat sorry dodge v is more reliable. Also Ford needs to make a powerful v8 rwd car maybe the continental can get air ride, extended wheelbase and a coyote with 10 speed auto to compete cuz with rwd a v8, extended wheelbase and air ride it isn't truly an American luxury car
