Fyi, you do not need to turn the battery on first. Just hold the power button on the controller for a few seconds

Even in turbo mode, It's a workout to get the bike up to 20mph. And once there, it's too hard to maintain the level of power you need to keep cranking the pedals to stay at that speed. I prefer a cadence censor.

I bought a Pace 2 because of your great review a couple of years ago, so thanks, I love the bike. What sold me was your recommendation for the disconnect plugs which really came in handy when I needed to replace some components. Question? Can I retrofit the torque sensor for the pedal assist on my Pace 2?

Aventon will have parts soon to do the retrofit. A shop will be needed, I would not suggest this as a do it yourself conversion

Having a Pace 500 first gen I have had not one problem with this bike. With that said I am concerned about if I will need parts one day,

You have to be pedaling to shift on this bike. Very few electric bikes can do that

Yes it can, I have some customers that replace the tires for some with more tread but the stock tires are fine for most people
