Review: Bachmann Class 350 31-031 Desiro EMU London Midland Livery with Olivia's DCC Sound & Lights

US Modeler here. I've watched several reviews and won an eBay auction for Class 350 101 (Bachmann 31-030) London Midland Livery, it has DC 3rd rail pickup details... but as you mentioned, this model loves speed! As far as running "Prototypical" 8 Car or 12 car, I'd love to see that in action on a large layout! The Class 450 version is also gorgeous, in Southwest Trains Livery! But is very pricy (for the non-weathered version too)!

Was this a good deal? I got one from Rails of Sheffield for £240 with sound, not sure whether it’s Legomanbiffo or Olivia’s, are there any other potential DCC sound options for the 350?

That's the same price I paid for the model in the video incl. sound. It seemed a lot at the time but considering this was the cheapest price going for the Class 450 without any sound, it seems a bargain today. www.youchoos.co.uk/ have a Class 350 sound offering which is Zimo decoder based.

@@EuviRail alright, mine hasn’t arrived yet but once it does it may or may not work in multiple with my model of 350101, or possibly just work alongside it, as my 350101 derails on corners when a nem is fitted

Just got it and the sound is very strange, it’s a Siemens unit of some kind but nowhere close to the 350

@@bennickss I don't think I've encountered a Siemens decoder before. Suspect it was harvested from some H0 stock then. Does it even give you the distinctive alien spaceship sound when moving off?

Hi Max, I measure 42 inches from end to end excluding any couplers at either end. A nice model indeed and a great runner.

Nowadays you need well over 200 quid to buy it on eBay...
