I personally like the short levers more because: 1) They have a cleaner/more aggressive look. 2) I like being able to operate my brakes/clutch with just two fingers. I find them easier to control that way but others do not. It's really a personal preference.

do the new levers make it easier to pull in the clutch? big, small or no difference from the OEM levers?

Excellent review. One question: I like to use all four fingers on my full length levers. Can you use all four on the short ones too or can you only use two fingers? Thanks.

I bought a crg brake lever but normal length. Shorties would be good for the brake lever but I like using 4 fingers for the clutch

A shorter lever will require move force to pull if all things else are equal. That's like saying a shorter wrench has more torque capabilities than a longer one.

I'm considering trying short levers on my CB500X. I'm thinking there are pros and cons, like with everything else. But there's just no way shorter levers can require less effort to pull, if every thing else in the system is the same. Sometimes people perceive changes only because they expect them.

You're simply wrong. They are easier to pull because you now have leverage from your pinky, ring finger and thumb wrapping around the handlebar; your hand is now locked. Where you are right, is that the longer you hold the clutch, the longer you hold it with only two fingers, forearm gets tired. Once you get used to using two fingers you will never like a full lever again.

You may be right about that, considering that you don't really get that much pulling force from your ring finger anyway and almost none from your pinky. I've never tried short levers and just didn't want to buy them and maybe not like them. I really just wanted the adjustable reach feature, since my new CB500 is the first of 18 bikes that I've owned that I actually had trouble reaching the brake lever. The adjustable levers are a big improvement over the stock ones in that respect, and I'm surprised at the quality for a cheap Chinese aftermarket part.

Kool SV, Did you put in a GSXR windscreen?...

I was told its harder to pull. This is good news that its easier. I was going to get them because i thought it'd be easier. I think i have carpel tunnel and my clutch is giving me pain.

what were some of the pros and cons of the short levers?

haha yeah.... naked SV looks best without a windshield but I like to duck behind it too much on the freeway. I told myself I would switch it out for the OEM front cowl when I am not riding long distances but I got lazy =/

Technically the longer lever should be easier to pull because you have more leverage. I'm buying a set for my CBR. I'm not sure what brand they are, some cheap bitches on eBay, $20 a pair. But I think it will make the bike look better and also easier to hit some wheelies
