Even though this is definitely not usually my genre, I did play the first 12 albums numerous times, because I remember Pete mentioned he was going to do an album ranking with Steve Keeler. I will give this a spin as well. Thanks again Pete for your time 👍💯

My favourite band, been listening since 1999/2000 when I discovered them by chance. This album is phenomenal imo. Neuronal Fire, A Bleaker Sun, Enforced Perspective, Not Nothing, Wayward Eyes are among my favourites. One of Us Is Gone is a special song for their former member who passed away a couple years ago after battling cancer.

Have to give credit to you and SoT, Pete, for even getting me to listen to a genre that generally is not on the personal listening list. Though haven't listened to the full album yet, will do so though this probably won't end up on the purchase list. But once again, the benefit of the weekly new product episodes is that bring to attention all types of bands and music in the genres covered by the channel and a personal pledge is to try to listen to all the albums that are reviewed. Some are hit out of the ballpark and become favorites, others may not even get to first base but its all worth a try. Thanks as always, Pete, for the weekly new product episodes.

Coming from a more melodic side of the fence, i feel tracks like One of Us is gone, is excellent and my favourite track on the album, just as was the song, Remain In The Unknown from 2020 release, Moment. I still love a bit of death vocals and mixing them up in a song, really works , amazing how much feeling comes across in all of Mikael vocals whatever styles he does.

Actually, Mikael's clean vocals have been part of the Bands formular since their Projector album from 99 that was almost entirely in that style. I like the fact they don't do just one mellow song per album, with all the others sounding different. That being said, the new album is good, neither much better nor worse than the few that came before.
@seaoftranquilityprog2 ай бұрын
His clean vocals are WAY better on this album in my opinion. Yes, you are correct, Projector does have a lot of melodic vocals as well, though it feels like this one has more songs with the clean vocals and no growls that they've done previously, but it's probably about the same.
@eldorado8522 ай бұрын
@@seaoftranquilityprog His clean vocals sounded a lot like Dave Gahan in his earlier days, I would agree that he has improved a lot and established an individual style in recent years. And I think what keeps them relevant is the fact they stick to their style and never became a manstream Alternative Metal band (or whatever you call them), but still play their Melodic Death style and mix it withh his Gothic like clean singing. I don't know a lot of bands that do that, most of them are either one or the other.

I thought this DT album was a bit disappointing but I want to spend more time with it. Does Pete review Leprous or Fleshgod Apocalypse albums? Really curious on his thoughts on their latest.
@seaoftranquilityprog2 ай бұрын
I can't review everything. I've reviewed plenty of Leprous albums over the years, but to be honest, they've completely lost me. I've found their last two quite boring, and I've heard this latest is more of the same. I'll pass.
