The F90 M5 Competition is the 6th iteration of BMW's big fast family four-door, and John Marcar is keen to find out if it meets the criteria set by its predecessors.
In this video, John talks us through the history of the BMW M5 and brings us up to speed on the latest model (the F90), talking us through some of the features, options and specs which result in a £103,000 price tag.

Owned a lot of M and Porsche GT cars and the F90 is one of my favorites of all time. I loved my e46, e39 but this F90 is perfect.

How is the comp pack’s suspension on UK roads? Haven’t had a chance to test but a number of owners and reviewers have commented on it’s firmness. Some will say it’s entirely appropriate for an M car, others will note that an element of luxury is baked into the expectations of a 100k+ saloon car vs an outright sports car (e.g. 911). I need to be able to ferry the family around a bit so trying to gauge what longer term drivers have found… 👍

Hello! (John here!) With the adaptive option I think it was pretty good considering the variance of road surfaces and conditions here in the UK. Admittedly, I preferred the car in the softest suspension mode, as that felt best for every day driving but even in the sportier modes, I wouldn't say I felt like it was unpleasant. The M5 would make an exceptional family car in my opinion - I have many friends that use it for exactly this purpose. All the best! John

Yes it’s firm and you will know it BUT it’s an M car and the big daddy tbh, car is a great machine the firmness just adds to the feel of the car, love mine

@@gtrmadman4127 Many thanks. I ended buying one in the summer and absolutely love it. Certainly a plusher ride than my M4 and way less skittish, whilst retaining that directness and precision you expect from an M. It does like to drink though 😂

Yes...its gets better...the E63s AMG
